Rachylou With the shirtdress, I'm primarily looking for a top long enough to wear the leggings. There's no way I'd wear it without them. Remember it's winter here. Mind you that often means the shirtdress wouldn't be warm enough, but I know that a " long sleeved top long enough to wear leggings" is a legitimate wardrobe hole for me in the milder weather.

Kiwigal/Sally. Yes I don't think this shirtdress is flattering. I feel quite dumpy in actually, particularly the tied version. You might be right about getting one with more shaping.
I was planning to primarily tuck the blouse in - I'm looking at it for workwear with my pencil skirts.
I have strong reservations about the sweater colour too. The only other colour was a dark grey which isn't a good colour for me either. The downside to winter shopping.
I'll check out Witchery. I tend to forget them.

Ledonna I did try the sweater on in a smaller size. I'll put it up in a minute.
The blouse is for our Australian winter. Would be way too hot for summer here! I like your thoughts on the style.

RobinF - yes I have reservations about the colour

AM - I want to shop with Angie too!! I am fascinated by the concept that shopping could be energizing. If I could afford it I'd outsource it.

Angie - sorry I didn't gt a picture of the blouse loose and untucked. I was mainly planning to wear it tucked

Suz - good point re leggings sticking. If I go shopping again I'll bring some leggings with me to check

Diane - I think I still prefer the old style print catalogue. But I stopped getting them when I moved back to the metro area as I was tired of paying for shipping costs. I don't have much non-work computer time, but I probably should put in a bit more time online to zero in on what shops to look at.

Brooklyn - I'n not sure about the shoulder fit. Also the shop didn't have the next size up to compare. I took up your suggestion and looked at Dejuba online -yes there are some possibilities there.

Beth Ann - I didn't buy anything. And way too exhausted to contemplate a trip back to the shops for a bit. (I've had 2 conferences over the last 2 weekends, and now need to rest up a bit before we take an overnight (ouch) flight to another one on Monday)

Lyn D - I did see the Millers shirt dress. Will keep looking out for it, but the shop I looked in only had them left in size 18. That one might be a bit long for leggings too.

Thanks Sally

Love the jacket and shirt ...it looks really classy and they will be a real workhorse.

like the shape of the asymmetrical sweater and think the fit looks nice on you. I can't comment on the colour as the photo was quite dark.

The denim shirt dress should be a winner over leggings or white skinny jeans.

Love the jumper! I think I will go check it out. Decjuba also has some asymmetrical jumpers. Not sure about the fit on the jacket around the shoulders. If you are happy with the fit I say go for it. I like the blouse too. Will give a nice boho touch to your outfits.

I actually love the sweater and think it goes with your glasses perfectly, which means that you must be attracted to the color (or I'm seeing it wrong). I'm not so sure about the shirt dress, I think it's a maybe but if it's tight in the shoulders than would you try another size?

The jacket is harder to judge in the image - do the shoulders fit or is there extra room? The blouse looks good.

I really like the first sweater. The rest just seams ok to me but that could be the pictures. But I do want to commiserate with you on the exhaustion that comes from shopping. I rarely get a chance to shop in a BM store so when I set a day aside I get all excited and draft a list a mile long. Usually about an hour into all I want is a cup of coffee and a good book. This is why I need to go with someone like Angie. :)

The jacket and shirt are no-brainers, look great. The sweater I'm not sure about, I personally have problems with that color, seems too dark with dark bottoms but too much contrast with light bottoms. But that might just be me (maybe a future post for help?). I agree with Ledonna about the shirt dress. Doesn't look bad but it isn't very exciting.

I don't think the sweater compliments you. I love the hemline. I don't like the fit or the color.

The jacket is a winner trendy yet classic. The fit in the shoulder and the waist seems like it was fitted to you perfectly even with arms raised for pictures.

The blouse I love love love. Here's why. Because it say sunny summer easy breezy days. The slight vneck the poet sleeves even the length are soft and beautiful.

For me the shirt dress is a take it or leave it type of thing. I have no opinion. ,other than to say girl show those gams.

I like the jacket the best- it has a nice shape and I think will be great for work. Lovely over your sheath dresses, pencil skirts and even with smart jeans.

I am not as keen on the shirt dress - I will add I struggle with them for me too. I can see you in a more 70s style one that is longer with more shaping through the middle.

I love the colour of the shirt on you and the neckline. Do you plan to wear it out or in?

I am on the fence about the sweater, I like it but wonder about the colour.

I don't have a lot of leads - Witchery has been my most successful Australian shop this season - and they seem to always have one deal or another on. I was planning to get some cream jeans but I think they will have to wait a bit longer:)

Thank Diane for the detailed feedback.

(Oh I should say that the shirtdress was from Kmart)
It may have been a bit tight around the shoulders - often a fit issue for me. Do you think it better with the tie or not? - I tend towards not (I feel a bit dumpy with ties like that)

The black jacket is a wardrobe HEWI and should go with all my work skirts. What appears as white tipping is actually a zip, although I forgot to check if you can actually take it off or if it is just decoration.

Yes, there's no need to buy the first sweater I try on - Hopefully the Aussies will chime in with some other suggestions.

I'm starting with the shirt dress/tunic. I think it'll look good with legging as you say and I think the fit looks ok. Is the top of the sleeve loose enough? I know you have your arms right forward to take the photo. so it's not a true view. Otherwise I like it!

Both blouse and jacket seem fine. I like the soft look of the blouse and it seems to fit nicely around your neck and shoulders. I like the white tipping on the jacket. Does it feel good on? Will you have plenty of other tops to wear under?

I do quite like the sweater. The colour does seem a td more muted than I've seen you in before, but the plum tome does suit. As for the shape, well it seems to fit well and I like the length. But if you're unsure maybe you should bide your time till 'the one' comes along?

Today was supposed to be my day to do all my winter shopping . The one commitment (within school hours) was over by 9.30, apart from the food shopping, and I'd just received some Westfield (shopping mall) vouchers.

Life has been crazily busy and I was hoping to use this chance to do much of my winter shop. The one day strategy worked well for me last year.

Well I lasted about an hour of clothes trying on before I just felt too tired and not quite well (getting over a cold). I did the food shop, came home and had a nap and a rest instead.

Note to self - seeing as I find shopping so tiring, probably not a good idea to get up early, go jog/walking and catch up on lots of washing up before hand!

Anyway. One item on my list is white jeans. This is a big stretch for me because of my worries about my thighs. But I tried on about 10 pairs in Kmart. All, I decided too thin.

Then I went to forever new.I 'd like to have some feedback on what I tried on there.

I'm quite keen to get an asymmetric jumper (sweater) like in Angie's formulas, but didn't seem many, This was one. I feel the colour may be too dark and not sure about the style flattery either.
Would love to hear your thoughts on these items ie jumper, jacket, blouse and shirtdress- which I would wear with leggings.
Also leads on thick white jeans and a asymmetric jumpers appreciated!
