I do have insurance which covers a portion of the cost once every 2 years. Unfortunately, the prescription for my right eye has changed significantly and I want to have a pair of back-up glasses - so a bigger outlay. I used to wear extremely pricey ones too, starting as a small child,&nbsp; until I needed cataract surgery and now my nearsightedness is cured and I only need cheap reading glasses! I mostly wore contact lenses in recent years so I didn't need multiple pairs.&nbsp; If glasses are your thing and they are pricey, my view is go ahead and invest, they are necessary for you to function in the world,&nbsp; and are part of your look every single day. I have found that the process is less stressful by ruling out those that are not the width that suits your face. For instance, 52 to 54 fits me best.
