Thanks Brooklyn - I will check that out. It seems mad that simple pieces can be the hardest to find!!

PS. I don’t think Athleta or any of the Gap brands (BR etc) ship here anymore. (And when they did, it was super expensive.)

Have you looked at The Iconic? Lots of sports gear.

I’m thinking about trying Sweaty Betty.

This one might suit you.

Thanks Angie - there are some great long sleeve options there. I do need another long sleeve option at some stage too. And I laughed at the loosey goosey!!

Nemosmom - thanks!! I find the loose ones a bit frustrating as they move around a lot. At the moment for the class I go to I wear a black cotton tank and tuck it in (which is fine) but I want another option as well. I am fortunate to be able to attend classes and a male acquaintance that I know professionally practices next to me.

I have now sorted the bike gear I hope!!

Aside from running shoes I realised I have only added two pieces of exercise gear in the last two years. And I have let a couple of tops go that were older so I want to refresh.

I hear your frustration, Sal. Too much is cropped/naked, or loosey-goosey at the moment.

FWIW, I just refreshed my yoga capsule and am very fussy about the items that need to work for my practice. I do vinyasa and hatha so lots of movement. It's at home so not a heated studio, and that's why I need layers. This is it:

https://youlookfab.com/finds/c.....ction=9431

No suggestions from NZ retailers I'm afraid :(

I am not much help. I have old (very old) Lucy tops with built-in bra (not the flimsy piece of fabric with elastic band, but a true supportive no-wire kind). They don't move at all and hit my long torso at hip length. I will cry when I have to let them go... have you thought of a loose yoga tee with a sports bra underneath?

LisaP - I will let you know if I find anything. We can get a lot of the same brands (all the sporting ones like New Balance, Puma, Nike, Adidas plus a mix of NZ and international outdoor gear brands (Outdoor research, Patagonia, Icebreaker etc) and a few other local or Australian brands. The fashions are against me at the moment though.....

I like the look of that Suntiger and might see if I can make an Athleta order and how the shipping looks!!

Thanks La Pedestrienne - Outdoor research is readily available here. I will check out that model. Icebreaker is fantastic - Jon lives in it. The fits are a bit tricky on me (often too short and too straight - but it only takes one!! I am determined to be picky as I wear these gear tops for years and years - my newest one is 4 years old and they last brilliantly.

No recommendations for brands you can find in NZ, but I totally understand your frustration . I feel the same way about the drapey - super wide arm hole styles and the crop tops . As if I’m going to wear those - ha . It’s even tough to find non body con tops at Lululemon right now . I did find a couple this past fall at Old Navy , surprisingly . The Athleta one that suntiger shows is super cute - I only wish I could wear cuts like that .

These! I have 5 of them They don't ride up because they have elastic at the hem, are long enough to not feel overexposed with leggings, and don't show bra through.

Sal, my favorite lightweight gear top is the Outdoor Research Echo tee, which is available in a long and short sleeved version. They are very breathable and a simple, somewhat relaxed fit. Despite being very lightweight, they wear like iron. It looks like the brand is available through NZ retailers: https://www.bivouac.co.nz/bran.....s-tee.html

I don't have any super fitted tank tops, all of mine are looser, but my favorites are from Icebreaker. I've been through several generations and there always seems to be a model that works for me (doesn't gape at the armholes or ride up on my hips).

Ugh, I am looking for a couple of new gear tops for activities
- running
- walking
- yoga
- cycling

The trends here seem to be ether a crop top with leggings/shorts OR a very drapey and gapey top. Neither suits me as my days of wearing a crop top running or doing yoga are long gone, and the drapey, gapey ones are irritating as they move around too much showing my bra and stomach in downward dog and the plough.

Ideally I am looking for one tank, one tee and one cycling top to add to my gear collection. I can probably sort the cycling top out as the Waikato where I live is a huge cycling area (track and road). Ideally the tank would be body con (so it does not move in yoga) and the tee would be a tailored fit (not too clingy) so I can wear it walking and running.

I have done some trying on locally and am struggling to find something that is flattering and functional. So many are very thin fabric, showing outlines of bras and leggings - and see through.

International shopping has a few problems right now as shipping is a nightmare into NZ at the moment. Expensive and slow. But I would consider it if I was confident the pieces were quality and would work.

Or just names of other ones - I can get brands like Lululemon, Nike, Adidas etc locally. I have bought Athleta in the US and online(once) so that could be another option.

If you have a sports tee or tank that you love I would love to know the brand and model.

Thanks
Sally
