Sorry you feel uncomfortable about this, that takes the fun out of shopping! Of course Angie's advice is spot-on as to how to politely decline the offer.

On another note, I really wonder if it's the same woman from on-line as in store. Could it be that, when you returned a lot of stuff, they assigned an in-store person to your account to see if they couldn't help you find stuff that worked better? By your returning a lot of things, they are thinking, dissatisfied customer. I think they are trying to help you, as well as make up some sales themselves. (Thinking win-win here.)

I purchase from Nordstrom but because I live very far away (3 hours) from any Nordstrom they never contact me for an in-store consultation. Even when I returned 2 out of the 3 items I ordered.

I'm sure Jean will get back, but emails can be attached to your order/profile. You get shipping status that way, etc. So they can probably just look your/their order and see it.

I think she could genuiely feel bad that so little of her advice worked. I would start by giving her the benefit of the doubt and just exlaind that you are done shopping for now. If you get any further pressure from her then I'd be irritated...

Just out of curiosity, how did she get your email?

I agree with the advice above. You owe the online SA nothing -- returns are expected with online orders. That does sound like a "hard sell" as MaryK pointed out and I really AVOID people like that as much as possible. The fact that you find the other items with another SA's help is not her concern, what she "sold" you didn't work for you and that's all she needs to know, you don't owe her another sale.

I ditto MaryK about the SA -- poor form! I would steer clear of her and Angie offered some wise words to use with her.

Nordstroms SA are a mixed blessing - I do appreciate the help in the dressing room with sizes/colors/ideas, but sometimes it's 'too much' KWIM and I just want to move independently around the different departments and not worry about causing one SA to step on another SAs toes. That's when it's NOT fun to shop at Nordstroms!!

San told about an SA who actually gave her a lot of pressure and a personal sob story when she returned a number of items. . . :-(
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....rom-called

P.S. Yesterday I went there on my own to just wander and see. I tried on a jacket in Petites and liked it, but wanted to check out the other areas too. I asked her to hold it, and she sent me with her card. Okay, but just to be helpful? I felt a little bit like I was being 'claimed'.

Personally, I don't consider "Please come in and buy more stuff from me because you returned the other stuff" to be very good customer service. That's the SA looking out for herself, not the customer. I wouldn't respond positively to that kind of thing at. all.

So yeah, I can totally relate! And that would be enough to make me shy away from that SA in the future! I hate the hard sell!

Jean, no worries at all! Nordstrom prides itself in customer service and they want to be ranked at the top - which they almost are :)

You should not feel enbarrassed about returing things - it happens ALL THE TIME. And Nordies is on your side because they want the items to work.

Politely reply to the personal shopper saying that your schedule is full and that you have exhausted your NAS budget. She will totally understand. Abundant returning is expected with online shopping.

As far as Sales Assistant-loyalty goes, I do stick with 3 to 4 sales assistants at the Flagship in downtown Seattle because I am there all the time and my clients need very best SA's. However, it's not a must to stick with the same SA if it just doesn't work out that way. Just be your charming self Jean and everything will fall into place

OK, I ordered a bunch of stuff from the NAS online because I have been very busy. I did it over the phone and by email with a women who was very helpful. I had to return almost all of it because it just did not work but when I returned I did find the Trouve shrunken blazer in camel which looked great on and a paperheat blouse in a beautiful olive green. Neither of these items would I have ordered online.
Important to see things in person!
I am proud to say they are both on Angie's list and I chose them before it came out!

I worked with a different girl in the store- whomever happened to be there when I had time to do the return and she is on the lookout for a smaller size in the blouse. In the meantime the women from online who also works at the same store is asking me to come in so that she can help me pick out more things because I returned the items from her order. She has emailed me- I had no idea they can track your returns like that and so quickly! I do not have time to schedule and coordinate times to work with a stylist and I have looked over everything and think the jacket and blouse are enough and fit perfectly with my wardrobe. I am considering the yellow raison pencil skirt but the color is too bright and if I were to duplicate , I would get the bronze olive exactly like the one I own because I wear it so much. I may need alterations on the blouse if it cannot be found in my size.
Should I continue to contact her? I am confused because I do not really want a personal shopper- I am such a picky and budget concious person and let Angie and all of you help me style. I do not know if I have done anything wrong or if there is some rule about sticking with one person. I do not feel as if I shop there on a regular basis. I also stop by when I have time which is often not a planned out event. I am also
emabarred at how much I returned on her order.

Can anyone relate?
