Oh, I know, I do too. For the last almost 15 years I never managed to be the same size for more than couple of months, sometimes not even the whole season.

I wouldn't pass the things on yet then. Put them in HZ for now. I'm not sure how long it took for me to rebalance, cause it was years ago- but the weight loss did stop at the 2. Luckily, cause I was like a sunken in little bird But- equally easy for me to go the other way...I envy the stabile weight people!

suntiger, that is what happened to me too, I didn’t plan or want to lose this much but I could not stop it. My BMI went down below 20 which I don’t think is that healthy for my age (50). I hope that I will rebalance and stabilize eventually.

Do you think you lost too much? That's my experience. When I lose, it doesn't just stop where it should. But- then I rebalance and settle back to comfortable 4 or 6.

Because this is old thread:) I bought those things last year when I was at the beginning of the weight loss, when I went down from size 10 to 6. I didn’t expect that I will continue to lose weight, and everything is too big again, I need size 2 at the moment.

It's exciting when you want to change yourself physically and you succeed, it seems worthy of celebration. Maybe that goal was more for the greater good of all than the reduced shopping this year.

And who knows what's ahead? There may come a time when your interest will turn elsewhere and it will be completely effortless to shop less for clothing

I can only see some smart purchases that will extend your wardrobe and make it easier to mix and match. You chose well and I am sure that you will be able to enjoy those pieces for a very longtime :).

Don't get fixed in numbers (I know it's difficult not to) but keep the focus on choosing good pieces and you will eventually buy less.

I agree with Sarah on both counts—thank goodness your foot issues are subsiding! And being forced to separate out clothing that fit was a really helpful part of the move. I believe you commented at one point that all your light neutrals were a smaller size. That’s useful to know, and setting up the rest of it that way could be helpful too. Does that add a third or fourth dimension to your analytical tool?

Well, you all are right - I am happy with most of my purchases and there were also some real needs so from that perspective it is a win. Fail is that I shopped above the limit I set for my self, and haven’t always stuck to the plan.
Jenni - I do very strict one in one out policy and have very complicated rules about it. I am not very visual or intuitive person, don’t have inspiration boards, style monickers or descriptors. I enjoy numbers, rules and tracking wears, and always feel weird writing about it, hoping I don’t sound too strange.

These are all beautiful. Maybe earrings, belts, scarves don’t need to be counted? I personally don’t even count bags because I don’t swap them out and am not tempted to over-buy bags. Anyway I assume the challenge purpose, as proposed by Suntiger, was more to get us to be more purposeful. I sympathise about the weight fluctuations thing. These do look purposeful and we have seen pics of you wearing them. I am interested: do you edit much out?

I echo the other posters — you have assembled a collection of things that work really well together, seem true to your style, and reflect real needs.

I am SO GLAD to hear that your foot issues have resolved. I hope you continue to enjoy relief from foot pain.

With regard to the weight fluctuations, I wonder if it would be helpful to spend a bit of time sorting your wardrobe into capsules by size? Maybe if you know what you own that will fit you in a certain weight range, you will be less prone to panic/make-do buying next time you are at that weight. Treat weight fluctuations more like seasons, if that makes any sense.

It’s hard for me to look at these lovely picks and recall the associated WIWs and think of this as a failure!

Regarding weight fluctuations, that is tough. I have been slowly and steadily losing weight for the last 15 months, and I’ve bought some things I loved and hardly got to wear before letting them go. I am trusting that I will not gain the weight back, but I hear you with the constant building mode. I am determined to lose a little more weight, but I also want to love what I wear now, and so I have been keeping a smaller wardrobe of things I love and wear the heck out of them. I think it’s okay to keep building and tailoring around our body changes - within reason, of course. As long as you can enjoy your gorgeous wardrobe and you can budget for it, I think it’s okay to be a little easy come, easy go with things.
