A great idea. I always found analyzing what I donate very helpful in preventing me from making the same purchasing mistakes again the next time I shop.

Ok. I'm not al that talented at using Finds. I managed to create a collection entitled "Rejected Items." How do I move a Find to a Collection?

I did figure out how to move a Find into a Collection. Thank you for sharing. I think this will be a useful tool in the upcoming year.

Chris, that is very clever! I'm still stuck at the stage of not having taken photos of my Custom Finds and want to do that before moving on, but I can see how valuable your varied use of Collections can be. I do keep some Collections (NAS purchases, for instance, and I started one for my F/W and S/S wardrobe, though it is incomplete).

Emily yes I returned everything I didn't like. I only order from stores that have good return policies and do it for free. I mostly return in person, which helps keep it free. Also Zappos. Poor return policies or not being free are deal breakers for me, although once in a while I will pay for shipping if I can return in-store.

Finds are actually quite easy to use once you get used to them. They are very well implemented and intuitive, thanks to Greg, but they do sometimes stop working when the stores change their web sites, which happens occasionally. Greg makes the needed changes quickly once you let him know.

Hi Chris! This looks like a good idea. At the moment, I'm exploring ways of keeping a visual record of my clothes/outfits. The main thing, for me, is that the record keeping part can't become too cumbersome. I'm also finding it useful to write down thoughts, realizations, and reflections about the clothes. The thought process is helpful in itself and the notes keep the newfound knowledge front and center. I haven't used finds at all, but maybe I should figure it out.

I hope you didn't get stuck with all these rejects, right? You were good about making returns?

In today's posting by Staysfit "2017 Style Plan: Mindfulness, Moderation and new glasses frames", a few people mentioned the idea of a "rejected" list to keep track of what you tried and rejected.

I've been using "Finds" to do this for a few specific items and will share here how it works. I basically created finds for them, and put them into a collection. In the notes section I've been taking notes on why I rejected them. I also found that if I "uncollect" each item AFTER they are in my collection, they drop out of my general finds list so I never see them except in this collection.

I currently have two of them. I put much more time into documenting the reasons for rejection in the shoe collection than in the bag collection.
