And I don't wear much brown at all and have cool coloring (fair skinned blonde) and yet they still work well on me. I have another similar pair made specifically for NAS last year in black with a back zip and they're much stiffer and come across much harder edge than I like. Also slate in the picture is too distressed but many, including kellygirl, say they are not that distressed and read sort of taupe (which I like). I'm driving my husband crazy. Thanks to those who helped me think about colour. Denise's tip about the sale at Shopbop and the fact that there is free shipping AND returns to Canada (unheard of!) I've decided I must pull the trigger!</p> <p>Here's what I'm thinking ...</p> <p>I like light coloured footwear. I think black is edgier (which I like). I've decided I'm not concerned about leg lengthening. I'm afraid with my mostly darker bottoms, black might not stand out enough. I love boots and want to show them off!</p> <p>Shorties come in different leathers. I like the slouchiness of the soft vintage (camel and black) leather but think I prefer the tan and slate colours. In the event that camel and tan are too orange and slate is too distressed (white-ish), I'll buy the black.</p> <p>What should I order?</p> <p>I threw in the dark brown outlier, in case someone can make a case for them </p>
