Agree with the posters above that only the t-shirt works, but the concept is good. And that is not a muffin top!

I don't know if wearing your husbands clothes really allow you to determine if you like the trend or not. As Gaylene and Laura wrote, the cut and proportions of men's clothing is very different from the boyfriend-styles being created for women. Could you try an inexpensive women's version to see if you like it, so as not to invest too much into it?

I agree that the t-shirt looks great on you.

I like the coat and the shirt, but I agree that the proportions of the jacket aren't quite right. The length and the rolled sleeves are great, but the shoulders are too wide.

I agree that the t-shirt is great. I think the *general look* of an oversized coat (probably not these exact ones) is great on you, too.

I think, to look good, the oversized look that the designers showcase on the runway is not quite as simple as just wearing clothes that are too big, as you've found out. A man's jacket usually has quite a large armhole while a woman's version of the oversized "boyfriend style" quite often is cut with a higher, narrower arm so it hangs better on a woman's upper body.

Sometimes shopping in the boy's department can give a better fit because the shoulder and arm are often narrower. Also, a jacket cut for a small man could also work for some women.

That said, some women do borrow from their hubbies and manage to make the garment look great, so it does pay to experiment. The T-shirt looks good, to my eye.

I promised this for yesterday but needed to post a Halloween question instead & didn't want to dominate the forum with another post same day. If you didn't see my previous Shop Hubby's Closet post. I decided to play in his closet to try out the oversized trend without spending money on it as I am not so sure I like it yet. I understand that the coats & jackets might look better if they were made to fit a woman of my size. I don't think I love his jacket & coat on me. I like the contrast of the lining on the rolled sleeves but they are a little bulky that way. The t-shirt might be something I could get used to. It is from the Gap & was a lot cheaper than the Alexander Wang I bought to wear the same semi tucked way. Neither his or my (not pictured here) semitucked tees hide my muffin top all the time. They are too soft & drapey & can reveal the muffin at any move or position.
