Your feet will be cold and even if the snow is all melted by the time you get here, the residual salt and grime will do a job on your shoes and pant hems. Ankle boots with non-slip soles are your best bet with pants this time of year if you are going to do any walking at all. You could always swap out sturdy footwear for pumps or flats once you get indoors, however, if you want. I know this will be a silly question for most of you but I am about to head the the United States for meetings and am not sure which shoes are suitable for the current snowy conditions in DC and NY... I have only seen snow once so I have no idea of what is needed... I have my ankle boots but figure I need a second pair for foot comfort and if the boots get wet. Are ballet flats suitable? Or should I take my lace up brogues? I will only wear trousers so either will work. </p>
