I wear my Roots leather oxfords which are somewhat weather proof or I wear my converse sneaks. Like Joy I will sometimes wear an older pair of ballet flats or a pair of shoes with non- leather soles.

I wear loafers or oxfords or fashion sneakers if appropriate. If it is not too cool, I have a couple pair of older ballet flats that I don't mind getting wet as they are on their way out but are still comfortable and look good enough.

This is a question I have been thinking about. I have been considering buying a pair of Hunter rain boots. They look FAB and it has rained a lot this year. I see that the Duchess of Cambridge wears them. It seems they are a popular choice and they come in many styles. I worry about ruining my other footwear in the rain.

I like my Born Arletta leather oxfords and Munro patent leather loafers for rainy days, or booties (I don't have any that are specifically weatherproof), or leather sneakers. For merely wet days (kind of misty, drizzly weather) that aren't cold, ballet flats are an option for me, too.

When it's pouring out, I tend to wear rain boots, but if it's just regular rain/showers, I wear sneakers a lot of the time. That might not be dressy enough for all your outfits - what about regular booties, leather so they're OK in the rain but not necessarily insulated?

Dear all, I know someone has asked this four years ago regarding summer shoes for rainy days, but I thought I'd updated it for the Fall 2014. What do you wear when it's rainy and a little cool, but not too cold out? By this I mean that I'm stumped on those days when my weatherproof booties (ankle-length) are way too warm and heavy, but when a lower-cut shoe like a pump wouldn't be protective enough. Oxfords? High-cut loafers? Shooties? I'd especially love if you can point to specific shoes for inspiration!
