I'm with you lady-rach, my heels must be narrow because I have to be very choosey about the flats I wear as most slip right off my heel. I did fnd one pair of Ecco brand last year with the elastic around the edges that stay on.

Thanks for that Maya. I will keep this in mind and try Ecco in future. I just wish other shoe shops in the UK had this speciality other than just the usual wide shoes option or half sizes which never work for me.

I have this problem too. Wore heel grips for years but mostly they just made my shoes feel too tight or didn't work at all. I finally accepted that I need to stick to closed shoes like boots and shooties, mary janes, and laceup shoes. I have a pair of ballet flats from Ecco that seem to work as well. Ecco specifically makes their shoes narrower in the heel but wider in the toe so it's worth checking out.

Thanks for the advice rute:-) Your comments made me laugh with the cinderella joke lol. Unfortunately I have already tried those heel grips but not in a while so will probably give them another try:)

I have a pair of heels (with straps) that I brought from Faith but they have also started to slip and it looks like I'm going to need to pin a whole into the strap myself to make them fit properly again. I was very tempted to stuff tissue down the back as a temporary solution. I should have done that haha.

Yes I've tried similar ones in the past but they never work as they don't grip the skin, only protect them from rubbing. I've tried the Scholl Party feet brand, (invisible gel strips) and similar ones, available in the UK but they are more for comfort rather than to keep the heels from slipping. I've also tried the Scholl Heel Liners but the plaster isn't thin enough to really work.
It seems there isn't a brand out there yet that really works..

Search for heel grips. Angie mentioned them in a shoe alteration post.

I'd be curious to know which brand has been tried and true for others? I bought the clear gel like ones at DSW, and the edges started and continued to roll up, so I had to remove them.

Please help me. I've got an unsolved dilemma where every pair of strap free shoes I buy will always start to slip off after the first wear...this is made worse with tights!! I'm so annoyed with this and I've noticed that the back of my heels are quite narrow as well so it could be contributing to my problem.
I’ve tried shoe soles but they are not always practical for party shoes and don’t really help keep my heels in place.

Does anyone have any advice on this?
