I purchased a "high heel" shoe stretcher from Amazon. I think it was about 20.00. It has metal attachments/plugs that you can insert into the holes on the wooden stretcher. I have a bunion, so I can add additional stretching right where it is needed for my foot. It has saved me much HURT!

http://www.amazon.com/High-Hee.....038;sr=8-1

It was a great investment for me.

That's fantastic news Anna! It's so depressing to have a great pair of shoes in your closet that you're reluctant to wear because you know it'll hurt!-)

'yellow patent snakeskin': I like the sound of that. Care to post a picture pretty please?

I had a super cute (and expensive) pair of yellow patent snakeskin flats that were pretty much unwearable. They were tight around the toes and ball of the foot area. I took them to the cobbler today. It only took them 1/2 hour.
While they're not 8 hours shoes, I was able to wear them on a 12 block walk today.
