The cobbler I use attaches a non-slip rubber sole to the bottom of my leather soled shoes. &nbsp;The drawback is it may not match the color of the shoe….for example a white shoe with black non-slip sole section. &nbsp;The rubber piece needs to be glued into place and has enough presence that it can be seen from the side. &nbsp;If that bothers you, it may not be a good solution.</p> <div><br /></div><div>It does bother me with some shoes. &nbsp;Below is a pair of OAS navy loafers which I had the cobbler “soundproof”. &nbsp;It has a heel tap and also the rubberized sole. &nbsp;The original sole was dark. &nbsp;In the second picture I think you can see the layer of rubber although it’s subtle because there is no contrast with the sole. I chose not to add it to the red shoes since they have a tan sole and I did not want a black line around the bottom. I don't like my shoes to announce to the building that I'm coming, and I especially don't want my footsteps to disrupt a classroom. Slipping is also a bad thing (I once had one heel slip and ended up doing the splits!).</p> <p>So does anyone have any suggestion for shoe silencers? Perhaps adhesive additions to the sole? It is most important for heels, but some shoes are clicky all over, so the front clicks, too. I've seen heel savers, but those aren't specifically designed to quiet shoes, but rather to keep them from wearing as fast, so they are often hard and loud, too.&nbsp;</p> <p>I know other people must have this issue, but either I don't know the correct search terms, or no one has solved the problem (which I cannot believe is the case). Any suggestions? I have several fantastic pairs of shoes that I rarely wear due to this issue. </p>
