I'm glad you enjoy them, Suz! They really are great sandals. I am so picky about shoes and these have just been wonderful. I want another pair in that pewter color.

Guess what? I got the Bernias in the larger of my two sizes!! They are a bit loose on the ankle and the heel (but heel looseness is normal for me due to narrow heels) but this size seems to fit in the length and forefoot width, so I am keeping them.

Thank you for this tip, Stacey!

Suz, yes! I have it in my head that I'm a size 10 shoe at all times. And for shoes, that's really true. But every summer I have to remind myself to try on sandals in 9.5. :)

I highly recommend the Cobb Hill Aubrey too. Based on feedback offered here, I ordered them and wore them for the first time during a 12-hour day that involved equal amounts of walking and sitting. They were so comfortable I almost cried with happiness. (I have developed plantar fasciitis...gosh I hate to keep posting that..blech...and I was getting desperate for a sandal.) No rubbing or discomfort of any kind and I usually get blisters at the drop of a hat.

Sounds as if you have met with luck! It's amazing how sometimes we forget to try another size with shoes more than with clothing. Glad you have found shoes that work for you.

I've been on a bit of a shoe buying binge lately and thought I'd share my finds, in hopes that they'll help others with low-volume feet.

The Sofft Bernia: I bought this one in my regular size 10 before it showed up on Angie's recommendation list. My feet slopped around terribly and I was all set to send it back to Zappos and move onto something new. When Angie suggested sizing down, I decided to try that since I liked the shoe overall. Lo and behold, a 9.5 works. It's nice and snug over the top of the foot, and I still seem to have enough room in the toe.

The Cobb Hill Aubrey: These are more vintage-looking than I usually go for, but I fell in love with the teal color. I bought my regular size 10 in a narrow and probably could've gotten away with the medium, too, thanks to the T and ankle-strap combination. Most importantly, these are nicely padded and are sweet relief for my bony, high-arched feet. Would highly recommend!
