Both pairs of shoes look really nice. That's too bad about the boots. Navy boots are not very common. But comfort is paramount.

I made the mistake of clicking on the link--so many low-cut oxfords! I'm trying not to click on anything because Honest Self knows that something will likely be wrong with the fit, but the selection is amazing. I really like the ones you picked out--I hope they still feel comfy once you've worn them out for a bit.

Ordered two pairs of shoes off of ShopSpring last week -- the Everlane Modern Ankle Boot, and the Nisolo Oliver Oxford (can't do a custom Find atm: https://www.shopspring.com/pro.....ery=nisolo ).

The Everlane boots are said to run half a size big, so I tried an 8.5 (I'm usually an 9) -- the fit was good, and surprisingly comfortable for a fairly pointy toe. But, I found this particular ankle height to be not very comfortable, hitting right at the point where my ankle flexes when I walk. I'd need a higher shaft, or ever-so-slightly lower shaft, for these to be comfortable. The leather was nice, and the blue color is super pretty.

The Nisolos, on the other hand, are exquisitely comfortable. High-quality, supple leather, true-to-size (I ordered a 9), and feel just right on my wide-ish forefeet. I like the simple, clean styling. I've tried three other pairs of black oxfords this year (from Frye, Børn, and Clarks), but these are definitely the winners!

Also: ShopSpring is a great way to try both of these brands, as they offer free shipping and returns -- which neither Everlane nor Nisolo does via their own websites.
