I think it's partly foot shape--my foot doesn't go "in" at the Achilles as much as other people's feet that I've looked at--but also, of course, size grading without checking for fit on real people. I'm 5'3" (I used to say 5'2" but the doctor keeps giving me an extra inch these days so I'll take it!) and my foot is a low-volume size US 5.</p> <p>The only tip I have, besides moleskin to line the inside while you break in the shoe, is heel lifts for closed-toe shoes, especially if they're made from synthetic materials. I bought a pair of New Balance sneakers--real sneakers! not fashion sneakers even--that killed the backs of my ankles until I took them to the cobbler in desperation and they inserted a wedge under the heel. If you are curious about these they are a tiny bit short and narrow. </p> <p>Pros: They are flat, go with everything and a little bit dressy. Something totally different to take the place of ballet flats. Nice color. Not breaking the bank so limited time left to wear this year is ok.</p> <p>Cons: Not sure how well they stay on your feet for walking around more than in the house. Make feet look kind of long. </p> <p>Fatal flaw: They squeak! </p> <p>I like them a lot but can't have that! How do you stop a shoe from squeaking? Os it because there is no sock? Awkward! </p> <p>What do you think? Honest opinions ok! </p>
