I do love Camper styles and have been deeply curious about them, especially since so many people find the, so comfy, but I don't have personal experience wearing them. Glad you found your miracle shoes though!

Maya - somehow I have it in my head you love Camper. Oh well.

Marianne - I don't have iron feet at all! It's all in the shoe, I think. Three of those hours were spent sitting (through dinner and a play). But the 4 spent dancing? I never sat down once!!!!!

Last night we went out dancing again and I wore the metallic wedges that Angie also has - my feet did not fare as well. I do like those shoes but there's something about the vamp that's wrong for me, and puts all the pressure on my toes. With the Via Spiga, even though they are 3 inches, it feels like all the weight is evenly distributed along my foot. That's what makes the difference.

I have a conference coming up where I will be standing all day long, and I *really* wish I could wear these for that, but I don't think they are professional enough for this conference.

Katiepea - unfortunately I didn't take a photo. I should get back into the habit of photographing my outfits. I wore them with:

- Inc black ponte knit skinnies
- a chocolate brown knit top from Anthropologie: it has a twist at the bodice, and it's long... long enough to cover the butt. Kinda flowy - no waist. Feel like a greek goddess in this top! I wasn't sure if the shoes went with chocolate brown, but my girlfriend said the "go"
- new long, three-tier gold and pearl necklace from AT (my daughter picked it out for me)
- cream clutch
- F21 pleather cropped and cheeky moto jacket (which I took off for dancing)

Wow Shiny, these are stunning shoes. I bet you looked fabulous! (Is there a photo per chance of your outfit? I'd love to see.) No suggestions, but here's hoping that they just needed to be worn in a little (which after eight hours, I'd say you are well on your way!).

Shiny, I have no advice, but I am amazed that these are 8 hour shoes for you, especially your mention of dancing for 4 hours. You must have iron feet.

Thanks Shiny. I have actually only ever had one pair of Campers on my feet and didn't actually do any walking in them (had to return them). It seemed like they would have been comfortable if the boot shaft had just been shorter. I love their styles but haven't worn them so I'm not sure if they really are comfy or not.

If you can wear strappy 3" heels, I don't know if we have similarly fussy feet. I wouldn't be able to stand it! But I will keep an eye on the brand if it works for wide feet. Definitely

P.s. To Maya - I suspect this brand would work well for you too. Knowing you love Camper, and having a new pair of Camper heels that have made me a total convert, I suspect our feet are similarly fussy.

April, I was in awe of these shoes too. I think it's a few things. The vamp is just right. Vamp on Via Spiga's always seems just right for me. It's like the shoe last was designed to mold my foot exactly. Also, they are designed for a wider foot. They aren't wide width per se, but looser. Would not recommend for a narrow foot. Because they are loose, the straps don't rub anywhere. Meanwhile, the ankle strap keeps them from flying off my feet.

I've tried those inserts and they always look silly to me. I don't know, maybe it's the shape of my toes? The insert always shows, unless I adjust it so it's not under my toes at all, but that's where I need it for these shoes.

Chellebrate - hopefully I do just need to break them in! I'm in love with them.

Cute! If that's the first time you've worn them, and wore them that long your feet probably need time to adjust. Mine would anyway. I looked for some cute snakeskin sandals last weekend, without luck.

Shiny, I'm in awe of anyone who can walk in shoes like that for more than a half hour! Go, you.

I know the moleskin isn't so attractive, but wouldn't it be covered by your foot?

I road-tested my new shoes yesterday:

http://www1.bloomingdales.com/.....sn_results

Yep, they are 8-hour comfortable! I wore them from 6 pm to 2 pm, out to dinner, a play, a few blocks city walking, and then 4 hours of dancing - never sat down that entire time. My feet were immensely happy.

Until I got home and took them off....

You see the pattern part that's under the toes? It's textured. The texture dug into the skin on my feet. I was fine in them, once I took them off and stepped barefoot onto the floor - OUCH.

I think this is easily solvable though. Either I just need to toughen up my feet (had a pedicure recently, which softened them up too much). Or, I need to put some moleskin pad or something there.

I don't like that second alternative because i think it tends to look tacky. Unless there is some product out there that is clear?

Suggestions?
