Thanks for the feedback, all!

I'm thinking definite keep on the purple flats and the wedges. Looking forward to wearing them both! Gracie, you may be right that this dress is a little short to be the best choice with the wedges.

I appreciate your eyes with the Dolce Vita flats. After thinking a little more, I'm wondering if the issue might be that the wideness of the strap and where it hits means it covers the narrowest part of my ankle, so it looks like my legs are stockier and more cankley than they actually are. And, Suz, you're exactly right about the wedge helping to balance out the leg shortening. I wasn't even thinking about that, but duh! Joy, I do have other sort-of-nude shoes (metallic, cognac, light snakeskin). And some dressy nude pumps that aren't really for regular wear. I wouldn't mind an everyday shoe in a true nude if I find one that works, though.

And I kind of see what Janet, Celia, et al. are saying about the sneakers. On the other hand, I kind of like these as a "gateway sneaker" that feels like less of a stretch for me than something sportier. Sort of easing myself slowly into something different. I may keep since they're pretty inexpensive and look for something more on-trend if I'm reaching for them a lot and feeling like I could use more than one pair of sneakers.

(Semi-related update for anyone who remembers: I wore the purple slip-on sneakers I was talking about here to run some errands a few weeks ago and realized/remembered that they're a little too small and kind of tear up my heels when I walk a lot in them. So need to get rid of those.)

I agree with your assessment of all pairs. The first ones are really cute, love the rich color, and upgrading to the pointy toe is a smart choice. The Sole Society wedges look great. For my eye, the dress or skirt would need to be a bit longer, like bottom of knee cap (but that's just me!). The sneakers are also good kicking-around fun.

The Sole Societys look really nice on you. I think it's the more delicate strap, its placement, and the wedge (which is leg lengthening -- compensating for the ankle strap).

I am not personally crazy about the bow on the back of the purple sling backs, but otherwise like them, and they're definitely a nice upgrade from the older shoes.

Yes, I think the ankle strap on #2 is too low for optimal flattery. I have a semi-poison eye for slingbacks so I'm going to sit out on #1. The Sole Society wedges are adorable! And I love the Keds!

My favorites are the wedge ones.#1-3 are also very nice.
Not crazy about the keds. As Janet I would like them to be more intentionally sporty.

My favorite is the sole society wedge with the purple flats a close second. Don't love the DV's or the sneakers especially compared to how great the other two look.

I like 1 and 3. 2 doesn't look bad, but comfort is key. I'm not crazy about the sneakers, but I prefer them sportier to look more intentional, and you say sporty isn't your thing, so feel free to ignore me if they're comfortable and play well with your wardrobe. I think I'm not wild about that color/stripe combination.

I agree with your choices and think each will be a workhorse for you if comfortable. If you return the Dolce Vita flats, will you still need a pair of nudes? Their ankle strap doesn't bother me visually, but they must be comfortable to keep them.

I think you are right on with your choices!

Agree that the ankle strap on the wedges is more flattering to you than the other. To my eye, that's because it is both more delicate and higher on your ankle/leg.

A bunch of shoes I ordered from the Nordstrom sale arrived. A little background: A lot of my summer shoes from previous years are still wearable, but kind of worn-out and/or dated-looking, so I was hoping to strategically upgrade with some of these. What I have on in the pics is the kind of thing I'd be wearing with all of them but the sneakers.

Sole Society purple flats (1-3): I'm thinking these are a keep. Seem comfy and I obviously love the color. I don't usually do a direct one-in-one-out, but had to like that they're a pretty clearcut replacement for the worn-out purple snakeskin flats in #3.

Dolce Vita flats (4-5): I really wanted to like these, but they're probably a no. First, the straps kind of rub against my ankles in a way that feels like it would get old pretty fast. Second, the silver hardwear is obvious enough that it might limit what jewelry I can wear with them (mine is mostly gold). Third, and where you guys come in, is that I'm thinking the ankle straps here might look especially stumpifying on me. Something about the thickness or where they're hitting. Do you see that too? I'm trying to get a sense of what to look for if I consider other ankle-strap shoes.

Sole Society wedges (6-7): Now the ankle straps on these seem less shortening for some reason, even though they don't blend into my skin tone like the others. Maybe because they're more delicate? I'm leaning toward keep for these. Love the dainty wedge shape and the two-tone. Also barely have anything open-toed or with any height that looks okay with summer work outfits at the moment, so these would help there.

Keds (8-9): I've kind of wanted one pair of fashion sneakers after seeing so many around this year. These would just be a really casual pair to throw on with knit dresses to go to the farmers' market or whatever. Would also maybe wear with rolled-up jeans or something once in a while. I also like how the more retro feeling and the espadrille sole makes them feel a little less sporty, since sporty and I don't get along. Not the most flattering shoes ever, but they probably don't have to be for what they are. (One is kind of messily untied here because I didn't want to deal with taking the laces out for this, but I'd obviously wear them either tied or with the laces out, not like that.) I'm leaning toward keep unless the consensus is that I can do better.

Thanks for looking and for any comments!
