Have you tried Dr Scholl's New Hidden Arch supports? They are fairly new--I've only seen them in a couple of drugstores. They are a soft gel. They've saved some of my dressier shoes. The nice thing for me is that I can put them exactly where I need the arch support. And they are soft enough not to irritate the bowed tendon that the podiatrist tells me is the cause of many of my foot problems.

I have tried both Naot and Dansko-- neither have enough arch for me and my orthotics are thicker than the removable insoles in the Naots. I have tried inserting my orthotics into shoes. They are too thick however. Most over the counter arch-support products don't have enough support for me. They don't even touch my arches! If anyone has suggestions for some super-high/good ones-- especially stick in arch supports that wouldn't greatly affect the fit of the rest of the shoes I would be game, I just haven't found any myself.

Thanks, Elly. Can you not add your own arch support/ orthotics to shoes?

These also have awesome arch support, but the leathers tend to be rough on my feet, so I haven't ever bought a pair.

Thanks for the ideas Biscuits mom-- SAS shoes don't work for me, although I haven't tried the freetimes. I think they look too much like leather sneakers to really add much to my wardrobe, as I am pretty happy with my running sneaks for appropriate activities. I had never heard of the Beautifeel brand, but looking at some of their options I don't think they will have anywhere near enough arch for me.

Angie--

I have these which you mold to your feet in an oven:
http://www.zappos.com/montrail.....lemon-whip

I have these in another brown color, but haven't worn them much, the company does make shoes with backs now, but the backs are too wide:
http://www.zappos.com/klogs-us.....ood-smooth

and I have these boots-- although mine are a different brown and very old:
http://www.bootbay.com/bootbay.....038;s_id=0

All three of these pair are maybe 6 hour shoes if you push it. The only shoes I can wear for a full day are trail runners with my orthotics.

Im SO sorry to hear of your problems! Have you ever tried SAS FreeTime shoes? Especially the *nubuck* ones..they are heavenly...They run differently than others from SAS...I dont have your issues, but I have arthritis in my toes, along with 4 screws in my ankle and fibro in my feet, so I have a VERY hard time getting shoes to work for me and I can wear these straight from the box, with no breaking in period...Ive also tried Beautifeel brand, which are good, but pricier....best of luck!

Hi ladies!

In her fit issues thread, Sparky suggested I should start my own thread about my shoe fit issues in the hope one of you ladies could possibly help me out.

I have extremely fussy feet. I have a medical condition that causes poor circulation and messed-up nerve conduction in my feet, so they are often cold and painful, or numb. I under-pronate and have extremely high arches. This means I need a shoe with some cushion, and also arch support. I do have orthotics that I wear, but they are fairly deep because of the cushion and high arches so they are very difficult to fit into anything other than sneakers. I have talked to the doc that does them for me and he made me a 3/4 pair, but they still have the depth issue. I have tried ordering larger or wider shoes, but wides are two wide side to side, and with my nerve issues I can't wear shoes that are too large in length because I will trip over them.

I have tried almost every comfort brand out there and they just haven't cut it. There is one brand of flip flops I can wear, and one brand of nursing shoes that I can wear but they only make clogs and I can't keep them on/trip over them when I am having nerve issues and can't wear them in the winter, and I have my old lace up cowboy boots that are about to die, and of course sneakers with my orthotics. However, I haven't been able to find a pair on non-athletic sneakers, or any other shoes or boots I could wear this winter.

Do you ladies have any recommendations?
