Natalie, I guess this is my announcement thread! I will post some pictures soon, but I pretty much only look pregnant in A bodycon tee, at this point. Anything voluminous or even fitted still looks normal - maybe a little pudgy. I'll be reviewing your recent threads, for sure. I just got a load of maternity clothes in from my sister-in-law, so I'll be needing help putting together outfits and identifying wardrobe holes, for sure.

Suz, that is a good thought. I didn't experience these pains last time around, so they caught me off guard. My feet are so flat that pancake-flat shoes have always felt comfy to me, but I may be damaging my feet without realizing it. Added weight as I go along and loosened ligaments could compound any problems.

Becky, first of all, congratulations! Great news!

And secondly...so sad about your feet! What a pain - literally.

First off...have you looked into possible supports or orthotics? I am just wondering if it is wise to buy new shoes before you find out for sure if there is some way you OUGHT to be supporting your feet or something you should be doing.

The others have given you good ideas, and I hope you are able to find something one way or another!

Oh wow Becky, congratulations on the pregnancy! Did I miss the announcement thread? I agree that flats are way more comfy during pregnancy...I've been wearing my ballet flats, Converse and flat boots a lot lately. And Merrell Mocs for gear shoes.

Oh pretty please, do post some maternity WIW's! I really need some company in the preggo WIW department! Even if you feel the outfits are repetitive, I haven't seen them yet! I would so appreciate it!

Hope you're getting some rest and that you're feeling well!

I worry about the lack of support in Cons, when you're pregnant (congratulations, by the way!). But maybe sized up with insoles they would work.

Or look into some of the "athletic" or sport flats or Mary Jane's--if you could find something that looks stylish to you --they're flat and but have more support than ballet flats.

Great, let us know how the Bass oxfords work out for you?
I love the idea of a Converse sneaker with a bit of sparkle. I like all four pairs, and personally would probably go for 3 or 4.

I think you are definitely onto something with the Bass Dalmation-spot oxfords! I also love the Dolce Vita colorblocked ones too, but I fear that I would soon mar their shiny surface. I think I'll order the Bass pair unless I see another great option soon.

I've been taking a look at Converse. What do you all think of these? I like the idea of something sparkly for winter.

Thanks, Nicole, I will check out House of Harlow - it's new to me.

Inge, thank you for your help. I think 1/2 would be okay. You're right that oxfords would probably be a good bet. I forgot to mention that while my day-to-day life is pretty casual, I do dress up on Sundays. I kind of hate to buy a dedicated pair of fancy shoes at this point, so something quirky enough for daily wear but okay with dresses would be great, too.

Becky

Edit: Inge, we cross-posted. I will take a look at those links!

Hi Becky, great to see you again. I'm sorry to hear about your current shoe issues, but hopefully you are feeling well otherwise?

Just to check: would a 1/2 inch heel be OK, or would that still be too high right now?

First thing that came to mind - especially since you want a bit more coverage and warmth than ballet flats - is a pair of fun oxfords.

I'm going to have a look around for you and post some links in a bit.

I've been mostly lurking and responding to other people's posts, without starting any threads of my own, for several months. I feel like I'm caught in a strange crack of needing some new clothes for the season but not wanting to buy anything now as my size should be changing markedly pretty soon (currently four months pregnant). So, I've just been wearing the same few things over and over - at least I like most of my core wardrobe. Uninteresting fodder for WIW posts!

I have hit an unexpected snag. A pregnancy-related change to my posture has rendered me unable to wear anything but flat shoes. I never wear high heels, anyway, but even an inch or two of heel height makes my shins unbearably sore for days. I am down to two pairs of wearable shoes: black and grey argyle sneakers reminiscent of Converse styling and black silk ballet flats. Both pairs are so worn as to be barely presentable. In fact, they may be beyond that point! The ballet flats will also freeze my feet if it ever really turns winter this year here in Oklahoma.

I need to find two pairs of shoes to replace the above mentioned ones. I look at the brands I usually like, and my mind is just a blank. I think I need some fresh ideas from you all.

I attach pictures of my favorite shoes, both Angie picks: Sam Edelman python booties and Jeffrey Campbell Williams oxfords. I can currently wear neither of these (nor my black boots, not pictured) due to their heel height. Hopefully these can give you a sense of my style. I usually wear black, grey, and cream with teal, fuchsia, and aubergine accents. I'm a MOTG and usually find myself in skinny jeans and modest tops. Any tips for a micro-sized shoe capsule suited to my needs much appreciated!
