This allows you to order online when something is out of stock in the warehouse, but in stock in any store. Unfortunately, the merchants may be placing more inventory in stores because they know if the warehouse runs out it can ship from the store (but visa versa usually isn't great; they CAN ship to you if you walk in to a store and ask for something, but that's not typically how someone in the store shops).
