Debbie, I'm so glad that you found it! I hope that you do complain though! My usual UPS guy is wonderful and always leaves our packages on our front porch area (which is covered and therefore protected from the elements). We must have had a new one a few weeks ago because I found one of my packages in the snow underneath my mailbox!

Debbie,
I have seen this a few times with AT. Actually once it leaves ATL and is picked up by UPS.... ATL is no longer held responsible, because once UPS has it..it is their responsibility to get it to you, although ATL can track it for you.
Also UPS must track each stop, so they do have stringent documentation that it has been delivered. If you don't recieve your item and they say it has been delivered you may file one claim per year with UPS. Not much help, and I am glad you found your item but they don't offer much else for the customer once it is dropped off:(

We've had UPS deliver packages to our neighbors' house because they mis-read the address - our house number is VERY easy to spot, too.

If UPS doesn't help, definitely contact Ann Taylor and let them know that you never received it in spite of UPS confirming that the package was delivered.

Two words: escalations department! Almost every good sized company has one and I find them to be the key to getting a complaint truly filed. I'd try escalations at UPS and see where it goes. That is unacceptable. Glad you found it thought!

Ugh. I am sorry to hear about the problem; I always have everything sent to my office now. Unfortunately, the only way to make an impact with some companies is to hit 'em in the profit margins. Unless they actually lose money, they couldn't care less. I am glad you at least found the package!

That is pretty poor form from UPS. I have had DHL do the same to me with expensive book orders from Amazon when I was doing my undergrad.

During the first week of every semester, I order my textbooks from Amazon because the savings compared to Irish bookshops are crazy. The DHL delivery person decided to leave my order of three books on one of the side windows of my house which I shared in final year with five other people. On the day of delivery, there was at least one person in the house during the day as my friends were all students who spent most of their time in the house studying or hanging out. I didn't find the books for a week and the packaging was ruined. Thankfully the books were all wrapped in plastic so they survived..

I just filed a complaint with UPS. The girl was not helpful at all. Said a dog must have put it under the car. Had no explanation for the time. Ask me if I had a dog. No my indoor dogs did not go outside and drag the package under her car. From now on I'm just having everything sent to the office.

I can't stand UPS for that very reason! I run a part-time business out of my home and had supplies delivered there a lot, and they usually came while I was at my day job and my husband was home to receive them. I was expecting a package that I desperately needed and had been tracking it all day, and when the website finally said it had been delivered, I sent my husband a text message to ask him to make sure he put it somewhere safe. He said UPS hadn't been there. We gave it an hour and when still no one showed up I called customer service. They told me the driver had left it by our garage. Well, we live on the ground floor of a 2-story apartment building (which is why a signature is required on delivery, per UPS policy) - and there is no garage anywhere in sight. I still have no idea where the driver left it, and who (if anyone) signed for it, but when I got home my husband had already left for his job and I found the package in the grass by my front steps. Now I have my supplies delivered to my day job, where our driver is fabulous and I never, ever have a problem.

If the parcel required a signature, ask for proof of signature (you may recognise the name). It is amazing how many times a courier will leave an item with a neighbour and not let you know.

I wonder what UPS would say if you called them and told them that you have a security camera, and that it doesn't show the delivery LOL
I had a package that had been opened, part of the contents stolen, resealed and delivered. It must have been someone at UPS who did it. The company (Old Navy) was very good about replacing my lost items, but sheesh!

Also, if it was actually left with neighbors, UPS usually makes a note of that in their system. They don't seem to do that too much anymore around my area. If it doesn't require a signature, then they just leave it on our front doorstep.

I have heard about someone who found a UPS package in her bushes many days after it had been 'delivered'.

I ordered somethng from ATL. Last night I remembered that I hadn't received it so I tracked it. UPS says it was delivered on Fri but I don't have it and I was home at the time they said they left it on the porch. I called UPS and basically they said tough. I'm going to ask my neighbors if they got it and I'm calling ATL any suggestions.
