I agree that the turquoise looks great on you, Shiny, and also the brown of the Anthro dress suits you quite well. I like it best with a strongly contrasting color, such as the turquoise cardi, or the white blazer, as your DD's opinion. The green Sweet Pea top really suits you (one of your "signature" colors!), and I'm so glad you found clams that worked for you. I finally had some Lucky crops hemmed to clam length because I had no luck finding clams that worked. I'm in business now, though!

Thanks Angie - you can sure tell the difference in hair color when you compare last year's photo (with turq cardi) to this year, huh? If I'm recalling correctly, last year I had had a glaze done. I do that every now and then to give my hair a rest from the highlights!

I do like the lighter blonde, particularly for the summer, BUT I think he went just a tad too far this time. The roots are coming in and there's a noticeable difference. I hate that, especially because it means I'm going to have to get back into the salon earlier than usual. So I think next time I'm going to ask him to back down a shade.

Cindy - I ended up duplicating the Inc petite clams. The quality of the denim is not as good as the BR clams I tried, but they were just too big in the hips and thighs for me. The fit of the Inc is better, and as a plus, the denim is very lightweight which is great for summer. Also the price was great. I'll continue to keep a look-out for clams though - as I've been noticing more and more women wearing clams around my town, so I think the look is catching on and overtaking the ubiquitous cropped pants!

I thought I replied to this yesterday, but I did not. Whoops!

I love the green Sweet Pea top; that green can be difficult to wear, but it looks so cheery and summery on you. Also love the brown dress; I am a sucker for great brown pieces, and that one looks terrific on you.

I am LOVING your hair so blonde!!! Nice change :0)

I think your brown Anthro outfit totally works, even with the silver, because the brown looks to be a cool-toned brown. The banana bag punches it up; love it!

The green Sweet Pea top is so flattering on you, both in style and cut. As a matter of fact, I think I have two in the same cut but one sleeveless and one 3/4 sleeve. I can see why you have multiples

Gorgeous week Shiny. Your Anthro dress looks great on you. I love the shape of it and the fact that it gets softer with each washing is a plus. I love that quality in a garment. It must be made of fine cotton.
I have a similar Sweetpea top with the angular hemline. I love it. Sweetpea is just so much fun.
It looks like the banana bag is serving you well, and your hair looks great for summer, blonde, with a barette, and looks kinda curly in back.
You must be all tuckered out form working all weekend but doesn't it feel good when all is done.

I'm absolutely sure!
I have the same problem, I feel more confortable in black, brown...
When I saw that photo of you in blue.. your face glowed!
You will be noticed.. I'm sure, but for a good reason! It is not screaming.. It's glowing!

Shiny, beautiful week! Your brown dress is wonderful and it is great that you can style it so many ways. Love it with and without the jacket and also with the blue cardigan. You can definitely do color!

You've sold me on the Sweet Pea tops. I'm going to start looking!

Rute, you really think so? I go back and forth about bright colors like that. Sometimes I love them, other times I'm like San and feel too ... noticeable or something. I have not worn that cardigan much yet this season because every time I put it on I feel the color is screaming!

Niva, you should join the sweet pea brigade! Not every style works on me. I believe I've tried them all. I like this style a lot (I have three in this style - a red/white one, this one, and a 3/4 length solid navy) and I like the simple short-sleeve scoop neck. This style is great because of the ruching - good tummy disguise. I also like the length for clams. I hesitated buying the green one though since it's so similar to the red/white one, but I wore that one constantly last summer and got tons of compliments. It's really easy dressing at its best. And they pack up into nothing in your suitcase, as an added plus.

shiny, I really like the Anthro dress. And I like both ways you styled it - last summer and this. I think the length of the dress is partly obscured from the eye when you pair with the denim jacket. Love the wash of the jacket btw.

And I really like your sweetpea top too! Maybe it's time I join the sweetpea brigade? Looks like it would be a great comfy option for hot summer days.

And just for emphasis, let me tell you again how much I love the denim jacket+graphic tee+brocade skirt pairing

Spent most of the week in gear because I've been doing some major spring cleaning. Here is the whole album, which includes the YLF challenge outfit and black dress with leggings, which I already shared last week:

http://s386.photobucket.com/al.....0june%201/

pw ylf2008

Two outfits in there I hadn't shared yet are:

Saturday: anthro brown dress over leggings
http://s386.photobucket.com/al.....ne1019.jpg
and
http://s386.photobucket.com/al.....ne1020.jpg

... it was a bit nippy out Saturday night, so I wanted to wear the leggings. I don't know if this works, for two reasons - the fullness of the skirt and the silver details with brown?

I do really like this dress, even if it is brown.... the fabric gets softer and softer with each washing so it's quite cozy... DD liked it better with a white jacket and no leggings, but as I said, I was cold!

For comparison, here is how I wore the same dress last summer:
http://s386.photobucket.com/al.....r08134.jpg

Sunday: new sweet pea top with clams:
http://s386.photobucket.com/al.....ne1018.jpg

I couldn't resist this top. Yes, it's the same exact cut as the one I already have in red, but in green, my favorite color!
