Ok thanks Shiny.

With all my codes and the 30% off it will be 174$ but now I am questioning the warmth. I ,too am in a very cold place in winter.

I loved the color. I loved the fit - fit perfectly in shoulders, hit right where it should on my waist, sleeves were perfect length (petite size for petite me). And I loved the coat from the waist up - adored the shape of the neckline, and could see it with a snappy scarf.

Ultimately I passed for these reasons:

1) Weight of coat. I thought that it would not be warm enough for our winters in Boston. To me, it was more of a fall weight coat, which I have plenty to choose from. I want something warmer, though not necessarily heavier (ie., wool cashmere would be ideal).

2) The self-belt. I just have never liked - or gotten used to- this look on me! I felt the belt added inches to my waist, and I don't need any additional inches (I'm a 0.8 waist to hip ratio). Maybe this works great on someone like Tanya with a teeny tiny waist.

I did debate about whether I could remove the belt and use a leather one instead. But, ultimately, I thought it would be too much to fuss with.

I also don't like belted coats in general, because when you wear them open, the belt drags on the ground or slips out, etc.

3) It seemed a bit too roomy in the hips. If it had more structure built into the waist - like a band of fabric - this may have been a non-issue. I don't mind having fullness around my hips normally, because it balances me out and makes me more hourglassy. There just seemed to be too much width in the hips.

4) The back view. The back view was the clincher. Without a built-in band of fabric creating structure (I have several jackets and coats like this and tend to gravitate towards them naturally), the back view was just.... blah. No shape whatsoever. Even with the self-belt cinched in as tight as I could make it while still being able to breathe!

Yes, I'm VERY picky. ;-)

Truth is, had it been say $60 on sale, I may have bought it anyway, despite these issues. But $250... nope. I can do better. I'm not in desparate need of a winter coat. I have a closet full of coats. The next one is an upgrade, so it has to be just perfect - in every way.

I tried it on in the store and it fit perfectly except for the sleeve length. The saleslady said to order a Medium Tall online for the extra sleeve length.

I Loved this coat's fit and wondered why you passed on it.

It is now 30% off and I am tempted.

I think she said I would get length in the sleeve with a tall and 1 inch length at the bottom.

It is so hard to know if it would fit me without trying it.
