I add my vote to Bijou being Queen Shine! I am pretty keen on shine myself, often in earrings ( more subtle in the daytime, more sparkly at night), and my regular bronze handbag, and my bronze boots, or patent cobalt boots, or silver blingy sandals in summer, etc.
Often though, my more subdued winter outfits would not have much shine, so I think it varies, for me.

I think about shine mostly when adding jewellery and accessories. Also buttons/hardware. I much prefer a jacket with shiny gold or silver buttons to monochromatic buttons. Or bags with shiny gold or silver hardware as opposed to black or gunmetal hardware. Shiny eyelets on boots. I often rely on these elements to add some lightness and contrast to my preferred dark palette.

I also have some metallic tops, bags and shoes. And I think silk and satin have some shine, which makes it a nice contrast to knitwear, which tends to look quite matte.

And I vote that Bijou be crowned as Queen Shine

I love shine from top to bottom! I have two pairs of silver metallic sneakers as well as two pairs of gold flats and a pair of gold booties. Shiny patent leather is also well represented in my footwear. I also purchased a rose gold moto jacket earlier this year, which replaced a very well loved burnished gold moto jacket. I haven't worn the rose gold metallic crop flare jeans much and I am not sure if they should be placed in the holding zone.

I don’t have many shiny things, don’t care much for it. A couple of silk tops with satin finish, one silk pair of joggers, one pair of patent leather pumps, one pair of cream and pale gold flats. And leather jackets. I’d prefer to keep shine to a minimum, great to wear a silk satin cami under a cardigan but satin tops look too dressy sometimes and not very versatile. Lesson learned.
my hair is shiny due to silver/grey in it, I try to keep my face matte if possible.

I used to be more anti-shine because my face was the only part that shined and not in a good way! Now I feel the shine works more with the silvery parts of my hair and am willing to consider it. Sometimes. I am still wary !

I'm all about shine - daytime sequins, glitter, metallic, jewelry, you name it. My Fall/Winter wardrobe is heavily focused on bling, but I do keep it as subtle as blingy can be, if that makes any sort of sense. I like black sequins or shiny black studs on a black background and dark metallics.

I am enjoying these posts, Carla. I rarely add shine to my wardrobe. I do wear gold, silver and rose gold jewellery. Occasionally, I wear metallic Birks.
My hair is shiny (not as shiny as it once was) so I guess that counts.
All my make-up is matte except for a tiny amount of eye shadow.

Besides jewelry of course, I like shine most in browns. Matte brown looks too monotone with my skin and hair, and usually too casual for my preference. Bright colors look candy-ish when very shiny, which doesn't fit with my look and personality. Black seems to read darker if shiny, so too dark. OTOH beige, if shiny, seems to read as darker (cause it casts shadows) so better on me.

I really like a bit of shine, especially in the Winter, when the colors get darker and more drab to my eye. But I only seem to like it at my ears or on my feet! I love a sparkly earring, and I have multiple pairs of silver, gold, or bronze boots and shoes.

I have one bronze metallic knit dress that I love, and my "fancy" dress, which is a navy metallic, but that's it.

Not a big shine person in most ways, except for dressy occasions.

I learned by trial and error that metallic footwear and handbags are usually too much for me, even in more muted tones, most of the time. Only the most perfect dark pewter, semi-shiny MIGHT work. Or combinations (cap toes).
I do like patent leather in some bags and shoes but again, it's tricky and patent and/or metallics just are not thrilling me during pandemic.

I have a few scarves with metallic features that I may use again eventually--using them as would jewelry.

I have liked some jacket fabrics with a metallic thread in small amounts.

My closet has more shine than I wear. I’m still expecting a good amount of change in my life over the next couple years, so am not purging yet. When I first wore these boots a couple years ago, they were darlings, but I scarcely wore them last year. I wore them the other day, think I need a few more outings (in cooler weather) to really decide about them.

I occasionally wear necklaces, bracelets, or maybe a ring to add some shine.

This series of posts is so good Carla!

My shine is subtle - layered delicate jewellery and my Clarins lip perfector gloss. I do my best to get a bit of shine out of my hair and I have lately been adding a touch of highlighter under my BB cream. That's enough shine for me - but I do miss it when it's not there and rarely go about my day without at least some earrings.

Well, of the four well-known factors, colour is the most important in my outfits. And now my first thought was that shine is the least important. However, I realize that I practically always do have SOME shine in my outfits. My silver hair is naturally shiny, and I sometimes even use a shine spray. I always (and everywhere, even at home) wear shiny lipstick/gloss, use clear nail polish on my fingernails and wear a couple of shiny silver rings. In addition, I often wear necklace or earrings, and I prefer jewellery that looks polished and has at least a subtle shine.

I don't wear very shiny clothes, but I love fabrics that have some sheen AND are soft, not stiff--fabrics like velvet, velour, leather, various kinds of silk, and lurex knits. I also love silver footwear. However, I don't feel a need to wear such fabrics/footwear every day.

I am not really into shine, I prefer matte. I have recently acquired an olive green bag that has a metallic finish that looks fab with my current favorites of olive and rust. Actually it goes with nearly everything. I am starting to see olive as a neutral. I have a silver handbag that I do not use to often, to my eye it looks better 'off' than 'on'. I have a silver Betsey Johnson belt that I have only worn very few times, probably if it was more narrow I would wear it more. I also have rose-silver mules that don't get much wear. Hhmm, I see a trend here, so no more silver bags or shoes for me. Clothes-wise, none. Shiny fabrics tend to highlight lumps and bumps of which I have quite a few and am not dying to draw attention to them

I forgot my metallic sneakers and gold sandals - that's the one area where shine is welcome .
Iridescent white Converse sounds like fun option!

Yes, some days I feel like head to toe shine in gold, silver or pewter and would love to add more bronze or copper for a more casual metallic. I depend heavily on metallic bags plus footwear, but may add a metallic scarf for a cohesive metallic look. I was also gifted with a metallic (silver) and black scarf. IIt I is great with jeans with a shiny black leather racing stripe doom the side.. It took me forever to wear metallics as I thought I looked like a retiree visiting from Florida. At some point I didn’t care anymore. So what if I looked like I summered in Florida?

Like you I have textured hair that is never shiny, so it’s not part of my overall appearance. However I am a sucker for anything vinyl, beaded, and WHAT is this about iridescent white Converse? Sounds awesome!

Maybe adding white can almost function like adding shine. Draws the eye to a focal point.

Not much "shine" in my closet - don't really feel like it's my thing. I love jewelry but don't wear stud earrings or something with a lot of bling. My boyfriend blazer has satin like finish with a bit of shine and that's probably it. "Subtle thing" sounds right for me.
Currently even small chains/necklaces could irritate my skin, earrings seems like afterthought, bracelets get broken. I don't feel like I want something shiny in my outfit/collection.
Hopefully when some normal returns to our life - then I'd feel different about shine/bling .
