I haven't thought about this too much since I was freshman in college. I think everyone I know has since grew out of that stereotype, thank god.</p> <p>I don't think Shell looks that way at all. I lived near Williamsburg, Brooklyn for 4 years and went to art school for 6 years. I am VERY familiar with this fashion statement. If you upgrade them to a boot or a ballet flat it will make a world of difference. I love Cons but I don't really think of them as sophisticated. There is nothing wrong with that, but if you want to be sophisticated, the Cons are not the shoes to achieve that. They're more for a casual, playful look to me.
