It's hard to explain just how hot it gets here, but I think long is just too hot on the hottest days, although Bijou seems to cope with it!. I find myself hoiking up the hems!&nbsp; The same goes with anything fitted, even a shift - need maximum floatiness. I think I have four at the moment, though the two jersey ones (the solid raspberry and the olive polka dots) may be on the chopping block for fit -- either I've shrunk or they've stretched. I wouldn't mind replacing them both with one solid black sleeveless t-shirt dress, if I can find one I like. The two striped dresses are both woven linen, which is my favorite summer fabric. I have my eye on another linen dress in a murky gingham that I find very appealing. They are all pull on shift dresses with no fasteners . I like a dress that is heavy enough not to need a slip under it. It feels cooler on a hot day. A denim dress is ideal, the tee shirt dress was new to me last summer and is very comfortable. Mine is Eileen Fisher. I have two newer summer dresses from Eileen Fisher. One is white and one is a dark to medium brown. I find it helpful to have a topper for each dress for air conditioning. A linen jacket or cardigan is a good weight. I like dresses to be knee length, but you may like longer or shorter.<br /> Don’t forget two piece dresses and summer skirt. I like to have white and dark denim skirts for summer. Again, you do not need a slip And can wear them like jeans, with anything.
