Shikai has a bunch of products for colored hair, and different types. For blonde, for red, etc. I have not tried these, but when I worked retail, people always wanted them.

The Iconic often has Olaplex at 20% off. I just stocked up. Plus I use the vouchers they send me (usually gives another $20 off).

The water where I live is very hard and can make my hair brassy. I use the Malibu C Hard Water Wellness Hair Remedy every few weeks - it's a small packet that contains powder that you emulsify with water in the shower. Surprisingly, it makes my hair feel silky. I definitely see a difference in the tone of my hair after I use it.

I use Nizoral shampoo - apparently it helps counteract DHT in the scalp and associated hair loss - and another cheap coconut one that I like.

I use the Kirkland brand conditioner (from Costco). Have read somewhere it's a dupe for a Redken product and I believe it. Really nice product at a good price. Works well for my oily, fine, very highlighted greying hair.

I have no idea if these are available where you live...

Awesome- I will visit one of the local suppliers/drugstores and see what I can get from one of these brands.

Yes Olaplex is expensive here too......

I am never sure of the difference between supermarket and high end brands in this field.

I have found that if I use a ‘purple’ shampoo only once a week or every ten days I get the benefit without the dry hair.

I also like Olaplex - but my hair needs/type is very different from yours. It's $$ here, but effective, as are their other products. I don't use it everyday though. Kevin Murphy is my other preferred product line.

I like DP Hue Cool Blonde Shampoo. I don’t like purple conditioners, I found them really drying. DP doesn’t have sulfates or silicones; I think that may be why I prefer it.

I have tried purple shampoos - the last one made my hair quite dull but I had success previously.

Will look that brand up Bijou - thank you! And thanks Lise too.

Sal have you tried shampoos with purple/violet in them, usually marketed for blond and silver hair? They are specifically for brassiness and they can be drying, which in your case could be a plus.

To counteract the brassy effect try a purple shampoo and/or conditioner. I use a conditioning treatment in the range Keep my Colour Blonde by Eleven - they also have regular shampoos and conditioners to keep my hair from going brassy.

I’ve had great luck with the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate conditioners, both the leave-in and the spray conditioner that you rinse out. The spray in/rinse out is great for my oily, fine, lightened hair. It is very moisturizing but also light.

I would like to change shampoo and conditioner. I have been using OGX Brazilian Keratin products which have not been great for my hair at all - too nourishing...

My hair is oily - I wash every second day. It is coloured which makes it less oily - a good side benefit. It is thick and in good condition. I mostly air dry it with the occasional blow dry. I rarely curl or straighten (once a year if I am lucky). My main issue is that it can go brassy.

I have used a variety of products from supermarket/drug store to hairdresser products.

Anyone got a great recommendation!!
