More yellow-y oranges are less flattering on me. I tried on that same top in white, which was nice, but felt more basic. The orange looked so good with the dark denim, hubs insisted. </p> <p>Yeah, I hear you on unique and well-made pants! Pants are so often a difficult fit for me that it always surprises me when I find interesting pants and they actually work! This year some trends have been in my favor (roomy legs, full lengths!), so I have gone a little bit crazy and I’m well-stocked in a variety of pants now. To the surprising point where I was doing a little closet organizing the other day and thought, “OK, no more pants shopping,” which is a very rare thing for me to say. Please ignore total lack of makeup and air-dried hair! </p> <p>1) ZMC vest and cobalt pants — the vest works as a top, worn with just a little cami, but also looks good layered over a long sleeve top like a tee or turtleneck.<br /> 2) new (already worn a few times) linen blend Zara striped shirt with cobalt ZMC pants<br /> 3) Zara blue and white patterned top from the matching top-pants set with the cobalt ZMC pants<br /> 4) orange ZMC tank with white joggers from Cloth &amp; Stone — yes, I’m daring to try white pants again! Hubs really likes these. I have this pair of pants in a green-grey from several years ago and have worn them to death (they’re now relegated to campground use), so I looked for a new pair. Found them in grey and in this white so I thought I’d give them a try.<br /> 5-7) ZMC white and black long sleeved blouse with denim pants like the cobalt ones. These seem roomier than the cobalt in pics, but I have already worn them, so they may be a little stretched. The top has amazing dramatic sleeves that are hard to photograph but they’re really fun. They can be rolled to various lengths though too, so not hard to wear from a practical standpoint. I should have loosened this semi tuck a bit more for the pics, but I was getting tired by then! But it was a little snug in the 8, so I went with the 10 to be safe (I can always get the waist altered if I continue to lose weight). But my dress is a 6 and roomy, even before I lost a few pounds recently. My tops are a 4 and a 6, and for the vest I sized down to an XS. So I would say that my experience points to roomy top sizes for oversized drama, while the pants I have are more tailored in the waist and hip and therefore more TTS. In my pants, the denim is less stretchy than the cobalt. Next week I’ll be back out among the living so I’ll be debuting some pieces then, hopefully!</p> <p>The orange top looks totally different on me, but I wear it differently than the model — I pull the armholes up to the shoulders for more of a sleeveless effect, showing the shoulders. It’s more flattering on me and drapes really nicely. It looks fab under a jacket too. </p> <p>The pants are so good! They’re cut so well with the flat front and the angled pockets that I don’t mind the high rise. I semi-tucked the top in them and it looks good that way. I think they will work well nearly year-round because I can envision them with high-shaft fitted ankle boots plus jackets or sweaters. Confession: the same pants also came home with me in the cobalt blue — those are a lighter weight fabrication and probably more of a spring-summer-fall item, but I’m always open to really good warm-weather pants, and it’s my favorite color, so they will get worn!
