I think of 10-12 weeks as possible high summer plus about 3-4 weeks of hot autumn where you want summer weight things in fall colors. I often start this in mid August when the stores are full of autumn things. At least bring out summer weight clothes in darker colors like black. The tops get the hardest wear and are washed most often.<br /> If it is a knit, it must be linen. I avoid cotton knits and all polyester for high summer, preferring woven linen, silk and nylon. I cannot wear sandals but look for fabric or perforated flat footwear. I love espadrilles and D’Orsay style flats, slip on sneakers and perforated leather ballet flats and loafers.<br /> This is a good thing to think about. How much is enough? You need a few summer weight toppers too. Do not forget dresses. I find I need a light topper for each sleeveless dress.
