I believe she is bringing real attention to such a serious issue.</p> <p>I found a picture with the black tutu and fishnets. She was wearing them yesterday but it’s really hard to see. She has a history of pulmonary embolisms and had them again after her daughter was born. Three major surgeries her first week of being a mother. Couldn’t walk to the end of the driveway to get the mail. And now this! </p> <p>She was very open on her Instagram and in interviews about the fact that black people have a hard time getting medical personnel (in the US, though the Guardian ran a piece about the UK following this story) to treat them for medical conditions, and black women are 3x as likely to die in childbirth as white women.
