I find it very satisfying to use the items that hadn’t been used, and especially to upgrade the items that I bought only to survive hot weather. The happiness factor has increased, to just above satisfied, which is good for me. My standard for joy is really high.

JAileen, of course the one day I had on a sweater over a nightgown my BIL called from my driveway to drop something off. Ugh!

Angie, #1 was actually the same except once I posted I saw that the tip of the toilet was still visible so I fixed the cropping.

I love the pictured outfit. When a company makes their clothes, and you buy them, then they became your clothes, to wear however you want. EF may want slouchy, but if you don’t, too bad for them!

I always wear casual clothes around the house. I never know when a neighbor might drop by.

Joy, thanks. I love the top and am enjoying the pants, something I never would have even tried on before YLF.

Sal, this is the best combination I’ve worn with these sandals as the pants are substantial.

Sterling, except for the weekly post, I’ve been just snapping photos. They are taken primarily when I first get up or just before bed, hair askew and sans makeup, so I haven’t been posting them. This week I’ll take some headless shots or clothing shots. I might take photos again after winter. Last winter I did a lot of repeats-pants plus 1 of 4 pullover sweaters so I doubt I will track once the weather gets cold.

Kkards, I think it is a combination of factors. I am definitely wearing my almost never worn items due to boredom, and because of the challenge I am figuring out new ways to wear things. Due to the challenge I am getting out of loungewear more often even if I’m not leaving home.

Barbara Diane...do you think you wore some of these items because the challenge made you more mindful of what you were wearing or do you think you wore them because it's the end of the season and you are tried of some of the other summer items? in the past i've found both to be true, and just wondering what you thought....

So the challenge inspired you to reach for lesser worn clothing items? It also inspired you to elevate your level of dress during casual days?

I think that is absolutely wonderful. Do you think a month of tracking will be a trend going forward?

Always good to remix items - especially at the end of the season. I do the same. I like the outfit shown - the pants are very cool and suit the sandals really well.

It sounds like you had a successful week finding new combinations. I can only see the second photo, but like those EF pants with the dark floral top.

9/8 casual pajama like navy, grayed blue and light blue woven cotton crops. Originally purchased to wear only at home on the hottest days, but recently realized that they look acceptable outside as long as the top is streamlined. Navy blue tee with 3/4 sleeves.Under 10 wears for both pieces. Crystal faceted pendant-million wears.

9/9 EF slightly cropped skirt/pants. Not harem, pants with extra curved panels in the front. First wear. Black background bright flowered print cowl neck longer top with an additional layer of thin black material at the hem. Million wears. Steinmart. Black suede sandals, Easy Spirit, Nordstroms so long ago I have no memory of buying them (info was on the box :). Worn a few times back then and guessing 30-40 times the last two summers. Photo below with legs apart from each other, trying to show detail of the EF pants. Probably made to be worn slouchy, but I can't stand that so I am wearing them higher.

9/10 navy background mint geometric print maxi skirt, navy top with elbow flounce sleeves, both purchased at Talbots Outlet this summer, 20 or more wears this summer. Crystal necklace. Later in the day, different navy top as I got spots on it.

9/11 chambray? medium denim color pants with received from my mom blue and red plaid cotton top. Pants from Talbots Outlet last year, similar story to the first pair of crops. Top 5-10 wears.

9/13 Gray maxi skirt from last week, white sleeveless top, Talbots Outlet, maybe 5 wears, dark maroon? burgundy? Wearever type Chicos Outlet open soft jacket? Old, 5-10 wears. I still think white near my face washes me out, but adding the burgundy helped considerably. First time wearing the jacket casually, I purchased it for when I need to look more "professional". Tried this as I just didn't want to wear with the skirt my usual, which is any black top. Pleased with the change, and with getting more use out of the top and jacket.

Pleased I wore more often wore casual clothes around the house instead of my usual. I felt both better and more appropriate. Also wore my swimsuit.

My days may be off as somedays I don't take the picture until after midnight.

Really happy that I finally wore the EF skirt/pants. Other than the navy maxi shirt outfit which has been a workhorse and favorite this summer, all were brand new combinations and different from what I wore at the beginning of summer. Glad to be wearing items that got little use, especially items I didn't particularly like but bought for the heat. Finally figuring out the styling for several bottoms made a big difference this week.
