I think it depends on the skirt. A low-wedge casual pump is probably the most versatile, although I can imagine some funkier oxfords and loafers with some more casual skirts/dresses.
I just got some tan and silver oxfords (that I will probably keep) that I am hoping to wear with a white denim skirt this summer -- as well as with shorts and rolled jeans.

Thank you to everyone who responded, and now I have a follow-up question: can these shoes be worn with skirts/dresses, or are they made more for shorts?

I was also going to suggest slip-on sneakers and loafers (high five, Laura and Suz :-), or perhaps a casual low-wedge heeled pump or an oxford in white, pastel or metallic?

Your cruise sounds fun. Have a marvelous time.

How about a pair of the slip on sneakers that are trending? In Angie's blog post today.

Hmmm. One of the new oxfords with perforations or fabric sides might be light enough both visually and literally. Or slip-on sneakers for the more casual days? Angie just posted about that trend. Ballet flats could certainly work as well, if they are your thing.

Hi everyone! I'm going on a cruise to the Caribbean for a few days and was thinking of wearing Bermuda shirts, however I've only got one pair of spring/summer neutral shoes that would work--and they're sandals. It might be time to invest in some spring/summer shoes that can be worn with short things. I have a heavy pair of brown shoes that work with pants already. Does anyone have any ideas?
