They're more comfortable that my regular sole DMs and less heavy. I'm not sure why though. I think DD has the Jadon in black and they're SO heavy. I tried them on and felt like they would take some effort to break in. I had to return the chunky sole Docs because they were way too heavy. The thicker sole is rigid and less comfortable than the regular Doc Marten sole because it is far less flexible and it does not seem to change with wearing them in. I would recommend not getting the thicker sole, but going with the regular because I think you will find them problematic. </p> <p>The good news is that the regular soled Doc boots are a complete winner. I have travelled overseas with these boots and done 20,000 steps a day in them with no complaints. </p> <p>I had not worn Doc Marten boots in years but rolled my ankle and needed support and they were brilliant.
