I've got the Alta - I 'upgraded' from the Charge, because I wanted something less bulky that looked more like a watch or jewelry. I also liked the fact that you could have multiple bands and change them out. I still use the Charge for workouts, because it tracks them better, but wear the Alta for everyday. I sleep in it and only take it off to shower or charge it. It's got a time display so it's replaced my everyday watch.

If you don't need a visible display, the Fitbit Flex is very minimalist.

The Garmin ones look quite nice and iirc are cheaper than the Fitbits, but are bulkier from what I remember; I wouldn't wear them and a watch on the same wrist.

I have the Garmin Vivofit which I like as it tracks steps and sleep and doesn't need charging, and that's all I wanted. I do wish it was slimmer on my wrist as it is bigger than the Fitbit Alta. There might be a newer, slimmer version out by now.

I use a very basic Garmin Vivofit. It tracks steps and sleep, requires no charging, has an easy to use app that syncs with IPhones and is very low maintenance. I only need to change the battery once a year, and that's it.
It's display shows - Steps, Distance Walked, Calories Burnt and Time.

This IS super basic. I think the Garmin Vivosmart might be worth trying too.

I have the Fitbit Alta, and really like it. It has a narrow, rubber band but you can buy dressier bands. I take it off at night so I have never used the sleep tracking. I think I've had it for at least 6 months, and so far so good. I do wish it had a heart rate tracker, but maybe a newer version will include it. I remember reading its profile was too small to accommodate the heart rate functionality at the time I got it.

I've been a fan of fitness trackers since the first waist clip-on Fitbits came out 4 or 5 years ago. I do a lot of walking and love being able to quantify it. My current Jawbone UP Band bracelet tracker broke in early October (I could feel a part snap off inside the rubber casing). I've now been through three different new ones, each one having a different problem with holding a charge or synching with the IPhone App. i ordered them through Amazon and have been returning them. I've been on the phone with Jawbone support for two of them, and have been trying with the third one but their support dept seems to be closed for Thanksgiving. So, unless something magical happens when I call on Monday I'm done with Jawbone. I'm going too switch to a different brand and wonder if any you have recommendations.

What I want is a very thin bracelet style that tracks steps and sleep. I don't really care about all the other advanced features. I want a slim shape because I wear it constantly (except in the shower) along with a regular watch and occasionally an additional bracelet. If I'm getting really dressed up I just take it off. I used a clip on style several years ago but found it too fussy to remember to clip it on and off on different outfits etc.

I found the thread on this topic from about 6-7 months ago http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/new-fitbit
...folks seemed to recommend the Fitbit Alta, ONE, and/or HR...so I will start there. I was at BJs today and saw a few from Garmin so I'll check that out too.

As usual not everyone wants the same style..we seem to have team "hidden tracker" and team "visible tracker"

Does anyone have any more recent suggestions?

Thanks.
