<p>I want to recommend having a look a Marks for the boots. I have a pair of brown and a pair of black leather boots from there which are several years old and still look great. They have an elastic panel at the back which allows for a very comfortable fit. You can order online and return what doesn’t work.

<p>Do you know where I had luck? &nbsp;Payless shoes! &nbsp; They have a black flat that goes to a 13 (bless them) and was only about $60. &nbsp; Now, they weren't great in the arch support, but if you need a quick fix they were quite nice. &nbsp;</p>
<p>I do echo the advice above. &nbsp;I'm not sure if anyone suggested Franco Sarto. &nbsp; There is one great shoe I've worn for years. &nbsp;I've put an orthodic into it. &nbsp;Very comfortable and I've worn them with dresses. &nbsp; They are a little clunkier for sure, but I think they are cool. &nbsp;</p>

<p>I wish I could help, but have no Canada game. I can just sympathize, as I often find my desired shoes are unicorns even with all the retail the U.S. has to offer.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I have liked Born shoes quite a bit for my wide fussy feet.

The strange ways of the internet sometimes;-)</div><div>I'll add the names of the styles below, and screenshots of the shoes, hopefully you can find them by searching on the website of The Bay like that?</div><div><br /></div><div>- Cole Haan Women's Pinch Lobster Leather Loafers</div><div>- Clarks Raisie Arlie Leather Loafers</div><div>- Ecco Shape Pointy Leather Ballet Flats</div><div><br /></div><div>Also, there's another version of the Ecco Shape loafer on the Canadian Ecco website with fun tassel detailing, which looks great too: <a rel="nofollow" href="https://ca.shop.ecco.com/en_CA/women-dress-shoes/shape-pointy-ballerina-262883.html?dwvar_262883_color=01001">https://ca.shop.ecco.com/en_CA.....262883_col</a><br /></div>

<p>Michelle, you writing is so much fun. I am useless for Canadian reccomendations but, if you have Me Too brand, you might find an inexpensive pair of flats that will be dressy. I had to think about my dressy flats and realized that most are from Me Too bought at Designer.Shoe Warehouse. If you have those stores in Canada. They would be a place to look and try on that is not expensive and carry a wide variety of styles.

<p><div>Your description cracked me up, Michelle, but I totally get how difficult it can be to find a stylish, great-fitting shoe!</div><div><br /></div><div>I had a quick look around on the The Bay website as well, and saw a few options that might work:</div><div><br /></div><div>Cole Haan Pinch Lobster Leather Loafers. It's a classic flat loafer. Style is polished. The brown is a lovely cognac and the "lobster" refers to the fact that the vamp of the shoe is adorned with a subtle, gold-toned lobster hardware detail.<br /></div><div><a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.thebay.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302024824&amp;PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442211161&amp;R=190595926097&amp;P_name=Cole+Haan&amp;N=4294964525+302024824&amp;bmUID=moGAn6h">https://www.thebay.com/main/Pr.....RODUCT%3C%</a></div><div><br /></div><div>I was also thinking that Clarks might work (I have wider feet as well, and have had luck with the brand, although not all styles fit me well. It really is trial and error with footwear, even within each brand...).</div><div><br /></div><div>This one comes in 10W and I love it for you because it's a dark shade of eggplant, which I know will appeal to you. Again, a classic loafer style, the sole is a bit sturdier than the Cole Haan ones, but I find that can look more flattering on a sturdier ankle. (I kind of want them for myself too;-)<br /></div><div><a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.thebay.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302024824&amp;PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442285408&amp;R=889307540309&amp;P_name=Clarks&amp;N=4294965943+302024824&amp;bmUID=moGyp4R">https://www.thebay.com/main/Pr.....RODUCT%3C%</a></div><div><br /></div><div>There's also this Ecco pointy-toe loafer, which looks quite similar in style to the Naturalizer Emiline, but this one has a pointier toe.</div><div><a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.thebay.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302024845&amp;PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442289924&amp;R=809704178660&amp;P_name=Ecco&amp;N=302024845&amp;bmUID=moGAb2l">https://www.thebay.com/main/Pr.....RODUCT%3C%</a><br /></div>

<p>Check out Adele, Charlene, Abbot, and Paulette. Idk if this site ships to Canada, but Rockport are so well-made, including inside—supports, etc, that it is worth the time to find them in Canada. Abbott isn’t available here in 11, but I figure you may be tracking them down at a different retailer in Canada anyway. They must make them in that size, seeing as all the others are available in it.<br />

<p>Michelle - check out The Bay shoe department. They have the Naturalizer Emiline loafer recommended by Angie, I see it listed online in black and cognac. There is also a very pretty Naturalizer Saban loafer in bronze. Both are flat with a very low stacked heel (half an inch or less) and look like they would be supportive. They are prettier than traditional loafers. They are both leather and listed as going up to size 12. I like the bronze Saban better, but the black Emiline would bookend your dark hair.

<p>Darn, and here I thought I was introducing you to some new ideas! I know exactly what you are referring to with the high exchange rate: duty free shopping rarely makes sense when I travel to Europe because the bad exchange rate wipes out any potential savings.

<p>Canada, you've actually just helped illustrate my point. Zappos does not ship to Canada at all. Many U.S-based retailers do, but the combination of high duty fees and a lousy exchange rate between our currencies means the sticker price increases by anywhere from 40 to 60 per cent when it's all said and done. If I'm going to spend money like that, I'd far rather put it to use on the shoes themselves. Other U.S. retailers that have Canadian operations routinely carry a fraction of the stock available to those south of the border, which is maddening to say the least. I am an old hand at this game and am well aware that online shopping is likely my best solution, but I hope you can now see why I'm eager to focus on options that are available directly within this country so as to avoid the pitfalls mentioned above. <br />I'm a fan of all the brands you've mentioned. What I'm humbly requesting is some specific style suggestions from those makers or others, ideally that have a similar vibe to the AGL smoking slippers that took off at the recent NAS. All the veterans around here know this, but you may not be aware that I am totally blind and often turn to the amazing YLF ladies for specific suggestions. A lot of them know my style well and have an almost uncanny knack of picking things out! They've nailed it more times than I can remember. :)</p>

<p>I've had good experiences with Ecco but unless you can find them on sale, they are going to cost mucho $$. Quality made shoes in varied styles. Also consider Franco Sarto or Clark's. I'm sorry to state you may have to travel the route of online purchase, try at home, then return until you find your Cinderella slippers. Order two or three different sizes. Zappos offers free shipping and returns with great customer service and no grumbling.

<p>Hi ladies!! Hope everyone has been having a wonderful few months! <br />I come to you now with what some people would consider a fun-filled scenario, but which for me represents a situation experienced somewhere between the third and sixth circles of hell. I refer to shoe shopping, which manages to tick pretty much every box on my admittedly limited fashion downsides bingo card. Once I list my criteria, I'm sure you'll soon see what I mean. </p>
<div>I require dressy flats that: <br /></div><div>Are available in size 10.5w or 11M (psht)</div><div>Look good on a non-dainty foot/ankle (still totally doable)</div><div>Look equally good with dresses and pants (I thought you said this was a challenge?) <br /></div><div>Have excellent arch support (still don't see the problem)</div><div>Can withstand the Canadian climate (hmmm)<br /></div><div>Not outrageously priced (ah, I begin to see)</div><div>Available directly in Canada free of American exchange rates and duty fees (what do you want next, a unicorn)?</div><div><br /></div><div>To make matters worse, I am also on the hunt for a pair of taller boots with all of the same criteria, but with the added challenge of fitting a pair of calves that make telephone polls look willowy.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>For the moment I would say the dressy flats present the more pressing priority, and it's here I turn to you. I wish very badly that I could snag a pair of the AGL smoking slippers that seem to be serving everyone so well, but the Canadian Nordstrom locations has opted not to carry them. Or most other things, come to that (another rant for another day). If anyone has comparable suggestions to make, I will be eternally grateful and will find a way to make it up to you! :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks very much, all!<br /></div></p>
