The sites did not become less secure or hacked in some way, the standards just got higher.</p> <p>That said, I work on this stuff every day. I would never buy from or give info to an insecure site, but if I’m just reading it I’m not too worried. There is very little risk there. People who run blogs are being encouraged to update/upgrade to newer systems to make their sites secure. I should know...my own site is still insecure (eek!). I don't visit insecure sites at all. I NEVER buy from small sites either. It's not worth the risk. I never click on foreign links. Delete things I don't know about, immediately. I don't think this belongs under technical support because it isn't really about this website, but about many. I could be wrong about that!</p> <p>Some of the sites I visit often have that little lock symbol, as this one does. Some say "not secure", for example une femme dot net (don't want to link it in case there really is something wrong). It isn't about ads exactly, because some of the lock symbol ones still have ads.&nbsp;</p> <p>Is there something wrong with the not secure ones? Several of my daily sites are listing that now and I just noticed it last week. Thanks for the education if you can help this dummy! </p>
