Glad you found your trouser. You are not alone. The Loft 'Marissa' trouser in navy (99% cotton, 1% Lycra) in a linen weave is working great for me. I do love their flowy elegance and cool comfort. They are getting good rotation as part of my spring/summer work capsule.

I love your reviews. I hope you'll post the EF pants on you, so we can see what they really look like. I agree it's the most flattering model pic! Glad to hear your persistence paid off.

Please continue your reviews! I enjoy reading them all, even though I'm not in immediate need of the items you are looking for.
1/6 success rate is fairly frustrating but you did find a winner!

Glad you found your winners, Peri! Eileen Fisher really seems to make some great stuff; IronKurtain was right! And grey rainbow, and Shannon, and Firecracker, and Joy, and countless others here as well!

The other great thing about the EFs is that you can pretty much be guaranteed that they will last and wear well. Amazing that you had to go through such a search to find them.

Woo hoo! Glad you found some that you like! EF pants are too short for me. I have tried some wide leg pants, but they always look strange. Too much material for me. I keep looking.

I'm so glad you found a pair that work! Now I'm off to look into those Eileen Fisher winners. . . .
I ended up taking back the Caslon ones I bought in white. I didn't want to have to wear them with tights all the time (came to my senses).

eta: Okay, I'm back. I just saw the white ones reviewed as being very sheer. So I'll pass. Phew--just saved some money there.

I like this look too but it is so hard to find the right fit. I have some linen j crew pants that work but of course are black which I'm tired of right now.

I love your reviews. I am also a fan of flowy wide-leg dark bottoms. I have three pairs in soft cotton modal from over five years ago, with drawstrings. In recent years I relegated them to loungewear because of the skinny dictatorship but this summer they are coming out. Nothing beats the breezy comfort of soft flowy pants, but also I find them very feminine, elegant, chic, and flattering. So glad that I'm not the only one!

Glad you found a pair that works for you! Getting wide legs right can be so tricky; it probably helped that you were able to compare them to each other. I like the silhouette of #1, but I can understand if they don't work in your climate. Would you consider them for Fall?

I love my high waisted swishy Ralph Lauren pinstriped wide legs because they fall very straight from the hip and are PPL because I pinned them myself before Nordstrom hemmed them and I didn't want to leave anything to chance.

Glad your perseverance paid off!

Okay, that's Great Pants Ordering Project...I was afraid that was too much to fit in the title line. And I really considered not posting the rest! Seeing in Angie's "what are your favorite bottoms" post that I'm the only one interested in loose and dark at the moment...maybe there is no need to even review. That would also help explain why I had to do most of it online too. Oh well, I dance to my own beat! And in case anyone is interested, here goes.

1) Limited Drawstring Palazzo...not terrible, but definitely not summer survival wear. I was hoping for something rayon-ish, but they are thick polyester.
2) Loft Fluid Wideleg...ditto
3) Level 99 Linen Wideleg...these are great pants! Soft and lightweight, and despite being called blue, the color really looks medium grey to me. I debated keeping them, but the "drawstring" is deceiving...these are cut like jeans and the drawstring serves no function that I could tell. If you size up maybe, but I didn't think they were meant to be worn loose. Final decision against...I have a similar pair in dark grey and they really are not what I was looking for.
4) Loft Linen Drawstring...softer than past Loft linen, really pretty nice. As long as you stand up. On me they failed the sit down test, very weirdly. Not at all comfortable.
5) EF stretch linen...okay wow, this is the strangest material I have ever seen. Very rough and scratchy. I've seen raincoats made out of something similar!
6) EF Wideleg Linen...we have a winner!!! Can something be loose and roomy and wide leg and still look slim? These do! These were rec'd by Greyrainbow on my original thread and she is right...they are more flattering on than that picture shows. I think they might move me into JFE territory, which is a step up from NRFAA (not really flattering at all). Plus very soft and light! I honestly don't care what they cost, since proof positive they are a rare find. And hey, they actually weren't the most expensive pair! Now for washing and hemming and then the proof of wearing. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for reading if you made it this far. Hope this helps someone, although maybe not if I'm the only one who wants this style. Oh well! :)
