Hmmm-- thanks ladies, that is basically what I was wondering.

Mary, you cracked me up!

Aida-- I just did 2 coats-- I refuse to use nail polish that doesn't give me my desired finish in 1-2 coats!

It does work better with the polish not completely dry. It can pucker if the polish is completely dry, and putting it on while the polish is still wet allows the SV to smooth it all out nicely. I would suggest painting all of the nails and then do the top coat right after finishing them all with the polish. Put it on thick and gently, don't push the brush down onto the nails; you kind of want it to glide over the top of the clear polish, if that makes any sense? I have used it over almost-entirely wet polish with good results, but that does take some practice.

How many coats of the Essie did you use? I find that if I need to do more than 2 coats I need to start using quick dry oil between coats. For a 2-coat polish I usually do a thin base coat, 1 coat all nails, a few minutes of dry time, 1 coat all nails, SV right after. If it's more layers the last SV becomes quick dry oil + polish + SV.

I have such bad eyesight that I couldn't read the directions. In fact, I didn't know there even WERE directions! I put it on almost immediately after putting on the color -- 5 mnutes tops. And yes, the top coat goes on thick but it dries just fine so that doesn't bother me.

Elly, the best way to do it-wait until your polish is fairly dry which for me takes about 5-10 min and then I put it on. Works fine this way

Mary-- do you wait for your color to dry first? It says only to dry to the "tacky" stage-- but I keep getting the brush too dry and messing up the tacky color underneath or I have the seche vite brush really loaded up and then I have a really thick coat or "flowing outside the lines" mess.

I use it and love it. No big tips -- I am not an expert manicurist by any means! I just slap it on and it seems to look and last fine!

I've never tried seche vite but it's on my want to buy list. I'm sure we have some fans Rae and MaryK possibly? Hopefully someone has some experience x

I used to like to keep my toenails polished-- I can't wear a mani because I am so hard on my hands, but having polished toes in sandals or when barefoot is a nice look and even in winter makes me smile. When I started having health issues it is one of the things that went by the wayside--- and I recently realized that I hadn't polished my toes in several years (with the exception of one 5 minute red pedi last year because my feet were looking shabby and on show in sandals with my graduation dress). Of course, almost all of my "supplies" were in need of replacement.

At first I decided to try out a new product that was supposed to be quick-drying and hard wearing and unfortunately I found it pretty much impossible to apply and remove. Luckily, I picked it up from Rite Aid-- which has the beauty aisle return guarantee-- I've never used it before since it makes me feel guilty, but that baby is going back and I'm getting my money!

A week later, I was in the area of a target and picked up a Seche Vite top coat and base coat and a new conventional polish (essie, not exactly top of the line, but fair quality). I gave it a go and while it is easier than the other stuff I ended up having to redo things multiple times. It is possible I am just out of practice, but I also think there might be a bit of a learning curve here.

So, seche vite enthusiasts, do you have tips? I'd like to make my next pedi go more smoothly!
