Yup. This is a common challenge. A scarf helps.

rachylou, Molly Mac, this is what I’m thinking!
I hate to add more fussiness to my lifestyle but this one- sided pilling is annoying me, since it appears that the garments would stand up to regular wear& tear but for the seatbelt issue.

I had a favorite steel grey velvet sweatshirt that was ruined by my seatbelt last year. Now I make sure the seatbelt doesn't come into contact with my shirts. I keep an old tshirt in my car and just place it at the point of contact. It does not interfere with seatbelt function at all. However, my kids think it is weird.

Oh yes. There are seatbelt covers but they’re intended for comfort, so I don’t know if they’d stop the wear and tear. My defense is really my coats.

I have identified asymmetrical pilling pattern on my left hip area, sweaters, pants and skirts, that seems likely due to where my seatbelt crosses over.
I guess the solution would be to place s towel over my lap or perhaps there is a seatbelt padding, but that low, would seem to interfere with the mechanism.

I’ve not asked my phone for advice, but wondered if others have dealt with this?
