However, for the purposes of really protecting your laptop, I think you would do better to get a proper case with adequate shock absorption. I have a nonleather girly tote but it was meant for laptops, so it has a lot of padding and some pockets and things like that. It's like a microfiber kind of material. I like the look and it has held up well. Since mine is so old, it doesn't have any interior pockets for phones and such so I don't carry it much anymore.
