I also tried it with a belt under the open jacket, and that didn't quite work either. I might play it with the scarf tied long or a long pendant, and the jacket open, though. I didn't think of that at all. I was more just blindly trying options than really analyzing why things might/might not work. I quite like the cooler-weather styling in #2, but the warmer-weather styling in #3 works nicely too. The dress is a little long for dresses but that can be mitigated by other elements in the outfit. In #2 the boots being "long" along with tying into the dark scarf adds vertical integrity which works nicely. You don't quite have that in #3, did you try with the jacket open? We spent a lot of time in Pacific NW landscapes like this one during my time in Seattle, so I relate to this photo, even though it's outside my usual color comfort zone.</p> <p>I wore my blue chambray dress with a faded olive blazer, cowboy boots, and a chunky evergreen infinity scarf to emulate the photo. The combination of the boots and scarf made the outfit way too heavy to actually wear today, though, so I'm actually wearing it as shown in the third photo, with oxfords and a printed cotton scarf. The blazer will be on and off all day as the temperature changes and I'm in and out of AC.</p> <p>Side note: I'm pretty sure this blazer isn't a great length for wearing over dresses. Or, at least, over this dress. I really struggle with jacket lengths, in general. PJL might be a bigger problem for me than PPL! </p>
