For me, it depends on what I'm wearing.....I love bags so I do change them often. In winter I often carry a black or dark brown bag. Because it's summer for most of they eyar, where I live, I have a few coloured bags....orange, teal, green....but I find myself gravitating back towards neutral bags very often. I have a luggage colour MK bag, similar in colour to what lyn posted, that seems to go with everything so it gets used most often. In your situation, your brown bag would work for most of the year.

I have a couple of purses that are definitely more summer bags, but for the most part, I'll carry any purse year round. But, like the others have said, the brown one is definitely a great year-round bag.

Not all the time. I like to make a contrast with my outerwear so may have a lighter bag for winter, if my coat or trech is dark...:-) it all depends...but short and fast, is OK:-)

I use the same bag until i get a hole or tire of it. So i am bag loyal.

I don't change bags often so this discussion of light colors for spring/ summer discussion is lost on me.

I think it is easier to get away with dark bags than it is with dark clothing in the summer, but there are no hard and fast rules. I've seen bloggers pull off all-black outfits in the summer as well.

It's fun to pull out a lighter or brighter bag for summer. A light brown is also an idea for year-round use.

I use most of my handbags year round, although I do have a couple of summer-only bags- a straw one and a white/red fabric shopper. And my black suede bag feels more wintry.

I think it really depends on the outfit. But typically it's fun in the summer to include a lighter or brighter or light neutral bag. Having said that, I don't yet own one myself, so need to get shopping! I had a yellow bag I adored last year, but it has fallen apart.

I'd wear your pretty brown bag year-round! I have a similar slouchy brown bag and I find it super useful for grounding things in the summer that are too pastel or too floral!

I don't know about hard and fast rules, but I relate my seasonal handbag choices to my clothes. In fall and winter I wear darker clothes in heavier fabrics and so I carry my leather and leather-like bags in brown, black, and camel. These bags rarely make an appearance in spring and summer. For warmer weather I have a bright floral bag and another made of a straw like material. I also have a few bags that I consider seasonless- in navy leather, purple, and denim. I think a couple of your bags, the silver for instance, fall into the seasonless category.

I don't think I have the best handle on this. I tend to use the same bags year round, black leather, purple leather, tan leatheresque, beige animal print not leather, but not fabric.

Anyway, I have an idea that darker colors are better for winter while lighter colors are better for summer. Is this hard and fast? Are there any ther rules?
