We used to have a dry cleaners that would clean everything and store it for you free until fall. I used to buy most things out of season on clearance, then couldn't wear them for months. Agonizing.<br /> Maybe just hanging off season things at the far end of the closet would help.<br /> As far as figuring out your spending, how about working on forming some capsules from your summer pieces to wear now? Like Suz, I try to get my out-of-season clothing out of the way so that I don't have to see it when it's not wearable due to the climate. But the other day I was cataloging my wardrobe and so had to look in the heavy-sweater drawer. I was surprised to see that I wanted to wear some of the wool sweaters. Then I discovered the magic of a slouchy dolman (or kimono sleeve) top, the tube skirt and the magical effect of semi-tucking (oh and vests too). It's very eye-opening. I used to dread summer because tailored jackets are just too impractical. I love the tailored look of jackets because I like having structure. Thanks to Angie's post on creating structure, I managed to find another way.</p> <p>I guess after what I've learned about myself, I'm no longer afraid of summer.
