I love the look of fresh greenery and a bit of bright red for outdoor decoration for the holidays. </p> <p>Love the legos too! And Indigoprint, that is a precious keepsake!</p> <p>Ok, we have gone above and beyond (for us) this year. Last year the house was torn apart for renovations, so no real decorating happened then. This year I have made up for it. We actually succumbed to convenience and got an artificial pre-lit tree this year. It was a very good sale so we just decided to give it a try. </p> <p>I edited some of our old holiday decor which was decades old and not exactly the vibe we wanted anymore, and combed Home Goods and the other discount stores for some new items — I’ve done little vignettes around the house integrating old and new items. Not all of these photos are very good — low light and quick snapshots, but you get the idea. I seem to have leaned heavily into the tree theme! The colorfully-lit tree is in our den/TV room — it was my mom’s tree and I decorate it with ornaments I inherited from my family and other old sentimental pieces like felt ornaments we made together when I was a child. </p> <p>The last two photos are our front yard. We usually try to keep our Christmas decor on a nature theme: snowflakes, pine cones, evergreen swags, stars, etc. No Santas, no candy canes.
