Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I really appreciate the replies! I don't live in the US so I likely won't be able to try department store house brands or anything, but I'll post an update when I find something that works!

OnGossamer boy shorts and Natori girl shorts are great for this and are very comfortable. They both have a very soft lace edge that stays flat and doesn't dig in at all. I usually get the microfiber On gossamer.

Target sells panties with the silicone edge at legs and top as well as ones with lace tops. I think it is under their Gilligan & O'Malley line. Both styles are very affordable. Commandos are also excellent; I tried a couple from Nordies but don't find them terribly affordable even on sale.

I second the suggestion for the Soma Vanishing Edge panties. They have a silicone edge and no. panty. lines. at. all. even with my tightest gym pants.

Honestly, I just found a couple that I love at JC Penney by Flirtitude.

These are not the exact pairs-I got mine in the store-but they are similar.
http://m.jcpenney.com/mobile/j.....ultIndex=+

Incredibly comfortable, no lines or muffin top, and cheap.

I just found these from Calvin Klein
http://amzn.to/LpKwzl . I have full hips and athletic thighs and usually most allegedly "no-panty-line" styles cut right into my flesh. Not these! They leave no visible lines whatsoever and are very soft. I'll be stocking up when they go on sale.

Like Ana, I have found some no-panty line undies that I like at Soma ("super soft lace bikini" is the style I like). I think when the edge is lace rather than elastic, that is helpful as there is less bulge.

Do be aware that the "vanishing edge technology" (at least some of the styles) at Soma involves a rubbery finish on the inside edges of the legs. I find this irritating to my skin and just plain uncomfortable, while a friend swears by this style (maybe similar to the thong/no thong debate--you may not know whether you like it until you try it).

In any case, I recommend Soma panties. I have a single pair of Hanky Panky panties (signature all-lace v-kini) that I like a lot, too, but they are pricy. These are probably the most no-panty-line of all my undies.

So, I have had a breakthrough on this front recently. I find that both briefs and boy shorts can give me panty lines, and therefore I usually wear comfortable thongs. However, I was in a lingerie store recently to pick up some new bras. The sales lady insisted that I should buy some underwear (variations of brief styles) two sizes larger than normal because I am pregnant and she said I have to consider "everything that is going to happen with my body" and I need to be comfortable. It looked to me like she was bringing me some enormous panties and I was skeptical, not to say horrified. She said "Trust me. In two months you will be thanking me." So I bought them and I can wear them also now. The thing is, they are totally comfortable, do not look bad, and THERE ARE NO PANTYLINES. The styles were pretty styles, not granny-panty, so I don't feel unattractive or something (and DH confirms). I think I might just do this more often, pregnancy unrelated.
So, to sum up, find some pretty briefs, size up, and give it a go. Maybe it will work for you too.

I will be watching this thread, as I have the same question! I only own one pair of seamless (nude) undies and I never wear them, even with my white jeans, because they are nylon. My body, er, complains quite quickly if I stop wearing 90+% cotton underwear. Is seamless + cotton an oxymoron?

That said, if you're OK with synthetics (some are lined with cotton, which I haven't tried), I would just go to Macy's and feel through the racks/tables. Nude panties tend to also be seamless.

I have started to acquire a few pieces that really show panty lines to an alarming degree. And thus I am on the hunt for seamless underwear!

I do not want to wear a thong and I am open to boyshorts, but would like the seams to be as flat as possible.

Any ideas? I tried some from Victoria's Secret, but was rather unhappy with them as they are decidedly not invisible under things.

Thanks!
