A friend of mine had both legs done last winter. She had one major varicose vein in each leg and patches of spider veins in different places. I saw her in a swim suit a few weeks ago and her legs looked really, really good!

It's what they use on the main superficial veins that are often the source of the varicose veins.

Zapotee - As far as I know the bruising varies from person to person. Mine has not been bad at all. I would never do it in summer though as wearing the compression socks in the heat cannot be fun.

Annagybe - Is radio frequency what they use for veins on your face?

If you need ablation (where they burn the vein from the inside out), radio frequency works better than laser.

lyn, that's how I got mine. Try compression stockings.

I am getting a little patch of veins from standing a lot on call - I'm hoping that having the rest of my career with more limited standing will do it some good, but if it pops up, I'll keep this procedure in mind

I am getting it done in winter this year. I have a Patch of spider veins in one leg that are very unsightly! were you bruised for a long time? My doctor recommended that I wait until winter so I can cover the bruising with my clothing.

Janet, I'm not one to do invasive treatments (or much any medical treatments) but I have read that they can use botox to "lift" your cheeks which I think is done to reduce the slight sagging of the jawline - IF it really bothers you.

The easiest way (I've also read, seen on tv, etc.) is to wear your hair up or have a cut that is done so your ears show which visually "lifts" the jaw line. I know this works but I'm still pretty satisfied with my long hair (for now). I did look up some images of Helen Mirren for future inspiration and noticed a few of her most recent short cuts that were very flattering. Of course she might have had at least some minor face work done.

Cool! I have a patch of veins on my lower leg that kind of looks like a bruise. It doesn't bother me much and never hurts, but I wonder if I might want to do this someday.

I just wish there was something non-invasive that could be done about my jowls. :-/

I thought I'll share this with you.

About a year ago I went to see a dermatologist about one or two varicose and numerous spider veins on my legs. They weren't painful, but I felt self conscious wearing shorts or skirts and I felt they make me look old. The dermatologist referred me to a "vein doctor". I went for 2 sclerotherapy treatments last year and for another one today. The treatment has worked well and I think my legs look much better. For now I have to keep my legs up and wear compression stockings for the next few days.

Next thing on my cosmetic enhancement list? My eyes. ;-D
