I haven't really changed my primary scent in years. (I rotate between two.) i do go through phases where I don't wear scents very often, usually because I'm wearing lotion or something else with a noticeable fragrance, and I don't want it to clash. For example right now because it's cold I'm carrying around hand lotion which has a nice but subtle scent, and I'm finding myself laying off perfume in the morning.
To get back to your original question though, I think it definitely makes sense to re-evaluate your scent as your own style is evolving.

I have a lot of perfumes and wear different ones depending on my mood and where I am going to be-work, weekend, evening, party, to please myself. Perfume is a wonderful affordable luxury and an interesting hobby. I like Guerlains best of all, but also wear Chanel, Caron, Serge Lutens, de Nicolai, Estee Lauder, some Lancomes, Parfums Weil (very hard to find), Tom Ford, attars from India, arabian perfumes and many others.

I've worn Chanel fragrances exclusively for years and years - #5, Allure or Cristalle - depending on the season and my mood. I've gone through life changes and style changes, but I haven't been prompted to change frangrances. These just feel like "me".

I've been wearing Burberry Brit, and I also have Elizabeth Taylor's Gardenia for warmer weather. I ordered some Tokyo Milk samples to try, and I have the Le Petite on today- I really like it.

This isn't what your talking about exactly, but I do have to carry several scents in order to "change it up" every so often. The days can sometimes be pretty monotonous, and the scents definitely provide an illusion of change.

not intentionally. but i did transition from simpler "greener" perfumes to a more complex one. the complexity felt more mature to me.

then i stopped wearing it for about a year now. this thread reminds me to go back to it.

Interesting. I recently tried some new scents at Nordstrom, but nothing felt right and some were downright awful. The only thing I seem to be able to wear is Light Blue, and I adore it. Wonder if that will change. What do you wear now?

I definitely have had certain scents for certain phases in my life. At the moment I vacillate between two depending on my mood. Maybe I am transitioning to a new phase?

I have been going through some changes lately, and I have been wanting a new fragrance. When I stopped and thought about it, I find that I often use a new scent as a companion to changes in my life. I thought it was interesting, and wondered if anyone else does this?
