I have double sided tape (Hollywood tape) that I use for stuff like this. I've found that it works well for most fabrics and haven't had it do any damage to anything. The only exception has been when I've forgotten to remove the tape and it stayed on for ages!

You usually only need a little square to keep a light piece of fabric where it belongs.

I usually just forgo tucking the ends and leave them out in the front.

I like the idea of wearing a scarf, silk or otherwise, wrapped up at my neck to give a similar look and feel of a turtleneck (this would be with a crew neck shirt or sweater). I have tried starting with the middle of a rolled scarf at my neck then wrapping around back to front, tying a knot, and tucking the ends back into the scarf wrap, but this doesn't ever stay, especially with silk scarves. Then it becomes a maintenance issue with me fiddling with it constantly and eventually wearing the tails out. Which I don't like. Any suggestions?
