An over the counter anti fungal cream has also helped me in that situation. I have also, on a dermatologist's recommendation use Obagi products along with Retin A and that got rid of the scaliness and lightened my dark patches.

When this has happened to me, an over the counter anti fungal cream helps.

I would see a dermathologist, Kiki. Or at least your doctor, as Kristin suggests.

I've had this happen to me and it was a bad reaction to a product I had started using. I stopped the product but the scaly skin continued for a few days afterward. I used my Clarisonic with a gentle cleanser and my normal lotion (Ceravue) until the effects wore off. I also use Retin-A but that wasn't causing it.

I know about this. I had good success with a very moisuring retinol cream combined with glycolic acid. Both were easily purchased on Amazon.

It may sound weird, but have you tried using a thicker lotion/cream on that area? I get eczema patches on the back of my scalp (which makes it looks like I have huge, gross dandruff problems) and thick creams seem to help with the big, scaly patches that like to fall off.

Have you talked to your doctor's office about it? They may have some good recommendations on how to handle it.

I've always had rather oily skin, which I have come to be thankful for. Now it is oily and scaly. I've tried various exfoliating products, but it doesn't seem to help. Retin A (backed off to once a week) just makes it worse, but when my face does the all-the-skin-dies-and-sheds thing from it, it is still scaly underneath. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I am on HRT.
